Computer startup blocked by "LogonUI.exe - Application Error"

Question

Hello, This morning I turned on my PC and came across an error message saying "logonUI.exe - application error The instruction at 0xfb7de933 references memory address 0x00000028. The memory cannot be 'read'." Click OK to terminate the program" There is also a blue screen flickering. I am constantly stuck on it and therefore I have no access to the desktop, could you help me, it's urgent?    Configuration: iPad / Safari 7.0

Hello, I have exactly the same issue, only when I start the PC without plugging it into the charger, it starts normally, but if I start the PC plugged into the charger, I get the same error message. If anyone has a solution without having to do a restore, I’m interested.

Good evening The logonui.exe process (logonui meaning Windows LogOn User Interface) is a generic Windows NT/2000/XP process used to manage the logon and logoff screens, allowing for easy user switching.  The logonui process is in no way a resident virus, worm, Trojan horse, spyware, or adware.  The file corresponding to this process is normally located in the "%SystemRoot%\System32\logonui.exe" directory (%SystemRoot% usually being C:\WINDOWS by default).  It is a critical system process that cannot be stopped.  We don't have much choice  turn off the power try to boot in safe mode.

I have the same problem as you, but I'm on Windows 7. It happened after a manual installation of Service Pack 1 on my end.

To perform a system restore, you must have made a backup of it, right?  I only have my standard installation DVD. I haven't made a manual backup.

It happens automatically, fortunately we can modify the frequency. I think there is a backup.

To restore, you just need to put the installation DVD in and start a restore, right?  Because I've already tried, but a message appears telling me that it couldn't find a previous backup.

Hi,  Using the W8 DVD, choose "repair your computer." There, you have several options (from simple to complex):  - Refresh your PC (you keep your data) - Reset to factory settings (I won't comment...) - You use the command prompt:  * you run an sfc /scannow to rewrite system files.  * If the dates differ, you recover the backup registry files (sam, default, security, software, system) from %SystemRoot%\System32\config\regback and copy them to %SystemRoot%\System32\config in place of the original ones that you have previously renamed to ".bak".

Hello, restoring it wouldn't help, proof is it works without the charger. Your PC is fine. Either it's your charger that's causing the issue, try borrowing a charger. Or it's something inside.

I have the same problem I can start Safe Mode, that's good but... What next? I'm not going to live in Safe Mode after all!  -- NicoH :)
