GN-2500 HD New Connection Problems
Solved/Closed

Hello, it's very simple... Giant 2500 HD new... you need to update it
* download the update here (official Giant site): http://www.zinetsatdw.com/index.php/2-uncategorised/29-gn-250-2500-hd
* you need to download this:
GN-250/2500 HD (NEW REMOTE CONTROL) version 1.30
* in the demo menu select factory reset ----- select all
* unzip the file and insert it into a flash drive, then insert the flash drive into the demo, search for the file and click on OK (do not touch anything until the end).
restart the demo, then search for channels... then press F1 + 111 on the REMOTE CONTROL, a list will be displayed, select activate internet
in the menu --- Expansion ---- Wireless settings ---- connect to Wi-Fi connection
VERY IMPORTANT: AT THIS POINT, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU SET
A PASSWORD FOR YOUR WIFI CONNECTION.
THEREFORE, YOU NEED TO ACCESS YOUR MODEM.
ONCE THE OPERATION IS COMPLETE, YOU WILL SEE THIS MESSAGE:
IP INFORMATION OBTAINED SUCCESSFULLY: 192.168.X.X
GO TO IP SETTINGS, YOU WILL SEE THAT DHCP: ON AND CONNECTED
in the end you'll find the channels are decrypted
(and excuse me for the level of French language)-

Hello,
To decompress means to extract your file; make sure you have installed WINRAR, it's a tool for compressing and decompressing files ;), once that's installed, you right-click on your file and select extract all here ;)
Below is the complete procedure for the update:
1- Check that your USB drive is formatted in FAT or FAT 32 preferably recognized by Linux partitions.
2- Create a folder at the root of the USB drive and name it "RomUpdate."
3- Decompress the *.bin update file and rename it "RomUpdate.bin."
4- Place the RomUpdate.bin file in the RomUpdate folder.
5- Disable Wi-Fi to ensure that the receiver easily detects the USB drive during boot and to start the update without conflicts with the Wi-Fi device.
6- Turn off the receiver from the power switch (rear button)
7- Press the on/off button on the front panel and turn on the receiver from the rear button without releasing the on/off button; when you see the menu on the display (1 - Linux 2- Android 3- Update 4-program), either release the button and choose 3-Update with the ch + ch - or vol+ vol- buttons on the front panel, or release just as 3-Update appears.
8- Press the OK button on the front panel and let the update happen automatically (max 12 minutes).
9- Reset all settings and restart.
You will notice that the file "RomUpdate.bin" on your USB drive renames itself to "RomUpdateOld.bin" after a successful update.
Good luck and sorry for the French language. -
