Hello,
I bought GTA 4 yesterday, I installed it and it took quite a while!
I installed the patch, I activated my game registered with Rockstar Games and everything...
CONFIG 8800 gtx nvidia driver 180.84
My problem is as follows: the game starts the opening demo perfectly, but when it comes to the gameplay, the camera keeps spinning around.
I tried calibrating the controller, the mouse works under Windows and in the game interface. When I move the mouse it stops... as soon as I let go of the mouse, the carousel starts again. it's annoying because the game seems to run wonderfully at about 40 FPS. If anyone has a solution, thanks in advance!!

Hello everyone,
I came across this issue because, obviously, I was in the situation where it didn't work at all.
So here it is, if you have a "hacked" game, that is to say without an official license, with a fake DLL etc., in short, a crack...
If, like me, you have your character constantly drunk, the camera spinning all the time, the controller vibrating, no reverse in the car and it accelerates by itself, make the following changes:
Start by reducing the graphics a bit, for example, setting it to "medium" level on both criteria (rendering and texture quality), it will smooth the game.
Secondly, if the problem persists, exit the game, open the control panel, go to system and security settings, open the firewall settings, and click on "change settings," find "Grand Theft Auto IV" in the list and delete it, I said "Delete." Its access to the network will then be cut off. Next, further down the list, look for "Rockstar Games Social Club," delete it from the list as well.
When I say delete, one last time, it's from the list and not an uninstallation of the program.
Reopen GTA IV, a Windows dialog box will open, asking for network access for the application. Uncheck the permission and close the window.
Click on "play" to launch the game, and it should then work perfectly fine!!
I don't know if that helps too, but I bypassed the Games For Windows - Live connection step when launching the game. You never know, after all...
For your information, it comes from the fact that GTA is connected to servers that can detect cracks. If you cut their network access, they can no longer do anything.
I hope it works for you, personally it's perfect, I managed to play for 3 hours non-stop without a headache from the camera movement...
Best regards.

If the camera rotates from right to left as if the character is drunk, it means your crack, if the game is unofficial, is not valid because the game has detected it.
If the camera keeps spinning around, regardless of your game version, it's because your pad is not the one for Xbox
My camera kept spinning in circles, so to avoid that you need to use Xpadder to set up your pad according to your keyboard.
Then launch Xpadder, previously configured, unplug the controller, launch GTA 4 and plug the controller back in during the game and everything should work fine.

Reduce the resolution or increase your processor (if it's an Xbox controller, it's normal; the game is not compatible with Xbox controllers, especially not fully).
try playing without a controller and let me know if it works, that would mean it's the controller's fault.
Well, to all those who say it's a scam, well... Thank you Ronnico because it's the cat that causes the mess. There you go!!
Hi, contrary to what has been said, it's not the controller that makes the screen spin and the character go in circles because I have GTA 4 straight from the store with a wired Xbox controller and in pedestrian mode it makes circles; sure, when I unplug it, it stops, but this controller is supposed to be compatible, the controller drivers are up to date and so is my DirectX, I've removed the drivers that could conflict with the wired Xbox pad and nothing works. And a... banana, one for the kids, and oh yes, I even applied the recently released patch and when I call the hotline, there's never an answer. Thanks R*, for games like this, I usually use them as frisbees, but 50 euros for the game + 100 euros for the video card + 35 for the controller, it hurts. Does anyone have a solution???? I don't really believe it, but hey, given that we're selling an unfinished game for 50 euros, anything's possible...
I have exactly the same problem; sometimes it spins in circles, sometimes left to right, and the worst part is that when I play with colleagues on my machine, everything works perfectly, so where could that come from?
Hello everyone, I have the same problem except that I don't have a controller, I have a beautiful Logitech mouse. It sounds loud at first, then it calms down, then nothing, perfect, and 2 seconds later: it starts again. I can't even play anymore.
Hi everyone, I installed GTA 4 yesterday, I started the game, everything is normal, but after a few seconds, my screen goes round and the car accelerates by itself. When I stop the character, everything goes back to normal, but when I start playing again, it happens right away and it progresses a lot! I can't play!
What's the solution in your opinion?
Thanks
See you!
