Safe mode with Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo P

Hello,

I think I caught a virus on my Fujitsu Scaleo P. I can't log into my account anymore; it displays "Loading personal settings" and immediately afterwards "Logging off."

Moreover, I can't access safe mode; I thought it was F8 at startup, but with that, I only get the menu allowing me to choose between hard drive or CD Rom to boot.

I am using Windows XP

Thank you in advance
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

hi try F5 or F2 or delete or the other F keys...

otherwise check your manual or see what appears when starting up the computer

Finally, it's F5 to access safe mode

But even there, it's impossible to open a session, whether with the user account or even with the administrator account

Same symptom: "loading your personal settings" when I click on my account and immediately after "logging off"

To repair, you can try

1/ repairing from a Windows XP CD...

https://www.pcastuces.com/pratique/windows/xp/default.htm

http://www.informatruc.com/reparer-windows-xp/

2/ from an XP boot disk that you need to create (see the following link)

http://www.trucs-et-astuces-windows.com/disquette_boot/disquette_boot.html

if you can't find a pro xp cd, use a boot disk. you need to boot the computer from the disk (if necessary configure the bios to boot from the disk as indicated in link 1 and set floppy or disk and not cd).

note that the keyboard may temporarily be configured for English languages. to check, press the a key. if a q appears, that's the case. delete this test letter with the backspace key.

TYPE chkdsk/f C:/ (note there is a space between f and C:/) (C in uppercase)

then press ENTER

if the keyboard during the test is in English, to get the correct display TYPE chkdsk!f CM* (space between the f and C)

3/ use Antivir Rescue System to scan your computer from a cd and remove infections (you need to boot the computer from the cd by modifying the boot order in the bios)

https://www.malekal.com/tutoriels-logiciels/

4/ use the ULTIMATE BOOT CD (to repair Windows, disinfect the computer, troubleshoot a hardware issue, or...)

http://www.kachouri.com/tuto/tuto-288-ultimate-boot-cd-34.html

http://ubcd.sourceforge.net//

5/ use a linux boot cd to recover your data and try to repair
https://ubuntu.com/
http://knoppix-fr.org/

6/
otherwise to recover your data we can try to disinfect:

you can connect your hard drive to another computer as a slave drive or as an external drive: and thus retrieve your data

or you can add a new drive to your computer on which you install windows or linux to boot from it and retrieve your data from your old drive which you will of course have previously set as a slave drive

you can then format the infected drive or return it if it has been disinfected

7/ unfortunately if nothing works, you will need to format and reinstall xp

then reinstall antivirus and firewall and only afterwards (after being protected) go online to reinstall Windows update (in start then Windows update)

I have the same problem, I can't access my XP session. I've repaired it three times, I manage to get to my desktop but when I restart, it's the same issue. I couldn't access safe mode with F5 either, I also have a Scaleo P. I haven't tried the other solutions yet.

If you can go to your desktop, back up your data, and do not restart your computer!

Download here:

http://images.malwareremoval.com/random/RSIT.exe

random's system information tool (RSIT) by andom/random and save it to the Desktop.

Double-click on RSIT.exe to launch RSIT.

Click Continue on the Disclaimer screen.

If the HijackThis tool (updated version) is not present or not detected on the computer, RSIT will download it (allow access in your firewall if prompted) and you will need to accept the license.

When the scan is finished, two text files will open.

Post the contents of log.txt (<<which will be displayed)
as well as info.txt (<<which will be minimized in the Taskbar).

Note: Reports are saved in the folder C:\rsit

Ok thanks, I'm going to try and small question if I do this, it won't keep the virus?
Or I thought about doing a restore from a week ago, can it work?
Thanks

some viruses are integrated into the restoration so it doesn't always work

for RSIT this will allow to see the infections
