Hello everyone, I had the same problem and I found the solution! Let me explain:
- Go to your BlackBerry software (BlackBerry Desktop Manager).
- Then, go to 'Application Loader, update, add or remove applications from the device.'
- After that, click on start for 'add or remove applications'.
- Plug in your BlackBerry.
- You will find yourself, after loading, in a menu where you check the box 'French support' or other languages, as per your choice.
- Then click on 'next' and wait for the loading to finish.
After unplugging your BlackBerry, go to Options, then Languages, and French will be there. That's it! Kisses to all, I hope I helped you!

Hello everyone, I had the same problem with my BB 9800
The update only installs English.
You just need to add French (pretty simple)

To do this go to the directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
(Win 7 64 bits)

Run Loader.exe (in this folder, if possible remove the "vendor" icon), follow the instructions, and you will have a wide range of choices (language, program, etc.)

If you are unsure, choose everything, you'll be sure to have French

There you go!

Hello, I'm replying to this quickly because no one understood :)

On your computer, you need to go to Blackberry Desktop Software
connect your Blackberry to your PC
Go to Applications
Click on the + next to French support
then click on apply
Your BB will restart and display in French :)

There you go :)

Hi, I'm also looking for the bold 9700. Have you found it?

You don't understand? French isn't one of the options.

But you don't understand anything, I set up my Blackberry in English, at first I had it in French, and now I can't since I put it in English!!! So it has to be there, if you don't have French, it means you bought it abroad, that's all!

It's to be done from the computer because, precisely, French has disappeared from the mobile. As soon as you do it on the computer, the French language comes back in the language options!

but no, it also depends on the desktop software; if it's in English, your bb will be in English --'

Apparently, you need to call your operator to activate a BlackBerry access for you.

Have a nice day.

I wanted to know if you found out how to do it; I'm still trying, I'm going crazy.

My problem is that it was in French, but with my other phones I would change the language as I wanted. Now English has stayed and nothing works; French is no longer available.

Yeah well, you're dumb, by trying to show off you don't get anything anymore, and try to write properly because we're having a hard time 'getting' you man.

And I would be surprised if BlackBerry hadn't introduced French among the languages (even as a downloadable option) considering that BlackBerry is sold all over the world. Look a little further than the tip of your nose.

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that.

Well, if he's asking, it's because French isn't one of the options!

C'est simple : premièrement, cliquez sur le bouton pour afficher vos options. Deuxièmement, cliquez sur l'option et vous allez voir "langue", cliquez dessus et voilà.

No, but you have the choice between English or American English.

C'est la même chose pour moi, je n'arrive pas à mettre en français, il n'y a que l'anglais ou l'anglais américain.
Si quelqu'un sait comment faire, merci de m'aider.

I have exactly the same problem with my BB Torch 9800. After an update with the Desktop Software that encountered an error, the French language has disappeared. => It is neither in the options/setup section of the mobile nor in the applications section of the software. I have switched to exclusive English mode. Do you know how to restore the default French mode on my phone? Thank you in advance for your responses.

I'm bad at asking for something, but there's no normal response, damn it.

click on destock manager, go to applications, there it will group all your apps that you can install and that you have installed. There you will see "language support..." with a dozen languages listed below! select French by clicking on the small "+"
and finish by going to apply and that's it! :)
