Question

Hello, "Power saving mode" issue!

As soon as I start my computer, my screen goes black (sleep mode (the button switches from green to orange), and an error message appears saying "Power saving mode"

How do I fix this, considering I can't access safe mode since my screen doesn't work as it goes to sleep immediately? Thanks for your help as soon as possible! (I'm a beginner, so if we can avoid technical terms or explain them in detail, I would prefer. (Yes, I know I'm a pain, but I've been without my screen for 3 months, so no computer) Configuration: Windows XP

Hello,

if the screen turns off, it means the computer is not starting. To make sure the problem isn't with the screen, try it on another machine.

To see if the computer is booting, check if the hard drive light is blinking (it is usually red or orange).

Otherwise, as soon as you turn on your machine, press the "del" or "f2" key to enter the BIOS. This key may vary depending on the manufacturer.

Okay,

I'm wondering if we're talking about the same thing: you say that at startup there is a black screen. And later you talk about safe mode.
Does your computer display anything on startup when you press the button?

Do you hear a beep at startup? If not, it may be an issue with the motherboard (I say it may be).

To rule out the motherboard issue, remove the memory sticks and then start the computer; if there is a series of beeps, the motherboard is functioning correctly.

Hello,

in desktop PCs, motherboards have white levers that allow you to remove the memory.
take a look at this image https://mourlon.com/index.php
on the last one, the memory slots are marked in green. (it says MSI next to it and you can see the 2 levers)

To remove the memory, push the levers, the memory will detach from the motherboard; Do not force it.

to reinstall the memory, place it back in the same spot in the correct orientation (to be respected) and then push down on it so that it fits into the slot; You will see the levers snap back into place.

Unplug the power cable from your case ... press the power button for 10 seconds to discharge any remaining power ...
Then plug the power supply back into the case ... and turn it back on ...
it should work ...

for my part, it was the dust that prevented good ventilation. Remember to regularly clean the inside of your PC, you'll be amazed. I used speed fan (free software) to check the temperature, I had 2 on fire. After cleaning, everything was normal and my PC no longer shuts down on its own.

Hello, my PC was working perfectly until the day I turned on my tower and my monitor, and there were no lights turning on the tower, along with a 'power saving mode' message after 10 seconds of startup. I tried plugging in a keyboard or a mouse into a USB port, but the lights don't work; they function on another PC.

My wife had the same problem: the computer started up, but the screen went black after saying "power saving mode." So, I unplugged the computer, pressed the power button to drain all the electricity. Then, I plugged the computer back in and turned it on, and voilà! The monitor was working normally. Thanks for the tip.

Interestingly, I tried the monitor on my laptop and it still said "power saving mode" and then the screen went black again. Mystery and gumdrops... In any case, the important thing is that it works with my wife's computer... :)

I found a failure!
My computer stopped while I was working. When I turned it back on, the fan spun a few times and that was it. On the screen, I saw "power saving mode." I opened the computer and tried to restart it while checking manually if any pins were poorly connected.
That's when I realized that the CPU cooler was a little loose, and the play it had created a short circuit, leading to the computer's shutdown.
I then removed the motherboard, tightened everything up, and reassembled it.
There you go, it's working!

Your screen is not connected to your graphics card; you’ve plugged it into the motherboard, which is why the screen stays on standby. Look for another identical port lower at the back :)
