a rectangle in the middle of my screen

Hello,

how do you explain, right now I am writing to you and I am very troubled, a completely white rectangle appears in the middle of the page measuring 12 cm by 5 cm
with a thin black band inside that says brightness
in the middle is an elongated shape with small arrows at both ends that flicker from time to time.
on the left is written 100
on the right like a little sun
I am trying to move it with my mouse but I can’t get inside it
it’s been impossible for it to disappear since yesterday and on top of that, it’s right in the middle of the page, I can’t do anything
it came out of nowhere like that all of a sudden, I am sincerely very troubled.
I don’t know at all what I should do
could you please tell me what it is and how to make it disappear once and for all.

Fiddling, I'm sure that's it ^^ Actually, you display the brightness of your screen, the number 100 being the value and the Sun the brightness of your screen ^^ No doubt in my mind :D  Leoz

Hum hum, according to the problem, I see two things.

1) You pressed a button on your SCREEN, and it's displaying the settings, so you need to navigate with the buttons on the screen to exit this window. If all else fails, unplug the power supply to your screen and plug it back in 2 minutes later ^^

2) You have a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE dead pixel on the screen...actually, that's not possible ^^

you have some keys on your SCREEN, so you need to press the quit, menu or escape key... look carefully, you'll find it ^^  It's nothing serious :D  Leoz

but I do on my keyboard, I have escape at the top left, I tried it but it didn't work, the rectangle is still there, it's really bothering me

We all have buttons on our screen... oops, maybe not if you have a laptop?

Otherwise, you probably have buttons, for example at the bottom right in the picture

I think there's nothing to be done. I've looked everywhere and still haven't resolved the problem. When the technician came to fix an issue with my tower, I mentioned the screen problem to him and he honestly told me that repairing it would cost as much as a new one, so as soon as I can, I'll buy a new one.

Every day I unplug the power and plug it back in; I admit it's annoying.

Exactly the same problem.
Nothing to do, a power surge and boom, a screen that works but is unusable with that rectangle in the middle.
Then I opened the screen (remembering to unplug it :-) and disconnected the screen adjustment buttons. No more rectangle since... Yes.
