Hello,
So here it is, I am creating an iTunes account as mentioned here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534?viewlocale=fr_FR&locale=fr_FR
I enter my details and I reach the account verification screen which tells me that I have received an email, I go to my mailbox and I have indeed received the email, I click on the link, it says "one moment please" and then it takes me back to the Apple homepage, I try to sign in via the iTunes Store and there: You have not verified your account!

I have tried several times but this message appears every time I try to sign in...

I hope someone can help me,

I had the same problem and solved it:

Once the confirmation email is received,
you need to close iTunes (it's important!)
then open IE (IE7 for me) (and not Firefox, which for once, doesn’t work)
(make sure to have only one IE window open, with a single tab (just in case...))
paste the link from the email
a page will appear
then a window will prompt you to close the window
say yes
IE will close
a few seconds later (10) iTunes will open (hence the need to have closed it at the beginning)
a few more seconds later iTunes will automatically open a login window
enter your credentials and validate

It should work normally!

But how do we go see this message we're not supposed to receive because I log into this account on iTunes and it says to go check your thing, it's annoying me??

I had the same problem and the people in the topic didn't help me much! I copied the link into IE and modified it (just changed the https to itmss, it opened iTunes and asked for my credentials, and for once it accepted them and didn't say: "please check your account"! I hope it works for you. Tcheck all

I succeeded with the email thing and all.
But then, when I enter my username and password, it tells me that it's incorrect...
When I ask to retrieve my password, it says that the username is not correct...
But it is correct!! (and so is the password).

too skinny actually, you just have to put it on Mozilla by opening the link to iTunes, or with Safari which does it by itself, anyway it asks you for your code and your account name, you enter them and it's good

Hey guys.

I'm having the same issues as you, I can't validate my account.

I've tried the various methods proposed but it tells me that "either the itunes folder is on a locked disk or I don't have write permission for this folder"

It's starting to annoy me, I've been struggling for 3 days.

I had the same problem: when I clicked on the link to verify my iTunes Store account, it showed me "loading..."
I downloaded Safari and opened the link with it. It finally worked! My account is verified!!

What the hell is this serious link, I can't find it anywhere in the email because all it tells me is to verify now. I click on it and it takes me to my Apple ID and says it's verified. Then I try to download something and it says you haven't verified your Apple ID. Please help me!

Hello everyone, I confirm; try opening your email through Internet Explorer for those who are attempting to do it via Firefox. Make sure to have iTunes closed at that moment. Once your email is open on IE, click on the provided link and it will complete the verification process.

Same for me, I can’t verify the iTunes account

When I open the IE page provided in the email, it doesn’t ask me if I want to close it and it sends me to the iTunes homepage on the Apple site.

I’m doing the procedure with only one tab, one browser, and with iTunes closed, but nothing works; it’s been 3 days that I’ve been stuck!!

Well, I had the same problem but it was quickly resolved actually:
- IE and iTunes don’t mix well.

By opening the provided link on Safari (for example) it works perfectly.

I think that's where the issue comes from.

With Vista, you need to copy the link and paste it in the bar with IE7 (= Internet Explorer 7) then yes, after iTunes launches and it tells you that the account is confirmed.

Well, I hope so. Actually, I know someone who has a forum specialized in the iPhone and iTunes. I contacted him via MSN. I explained my problem to him, and he said it was strange and that it was probably an issue with iTunes or Apple, and that we should receive the emails within a week or two. SOLUTION POUR OUVRIR LE LIEN D'ACTIVATION DU COMPTE

Allez dans EXECUTER et exécutez le chemin suivant :

C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe /url "itmss://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/verifyAccountEmail?evcode=............"

Remarque : vous devez remplacer l'adresse commençant par itmss://........... par votre propre lien d'activation. Vous devez inclure les "" avant le itmss:// et à la fin du lien.

You need to open the link, and when it asks you to open the page in secure mode, you should say no. Another page will open, and then you allow the application to open in iTunes.

After that, you need to enter your codes.

Hello, I had the same problem as all of you. When I tried to verify my account, the link took me back to the Apple homepage. I followed everyone's advice on this forum, but nothing worked!!! BUT I FOUND THE SOLUTION !!!!!!

Windows will automatically take you back to the homepage because Windows does not recognize the ITMSS protocol!!!!
!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU WANT TO VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT, YOU MUST DO IT FROM A MAC BECAUSE ONLY MACS RECOGNIZE THE ITMSS PROTOCOL !!!!!
THE MAC WILL CARRY OUT THE VERIFICATION PROCESS !!!!!!!

GO TO THE NEAREST APPLE STORE !!!! AND VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT FROM A MAC !!!!

P.S: IPHONES AND IPOD TOUCHES DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE ITMSS PROTOCOL, SO THERE'S NO POINT IN TRYING TO VERIFY VIA AN IPHONE OR AN IPOD TOUCH !!!!

Safari can’t open ‘itmss://buy.itunes.apple.com.....’ because Microsoft Windows does not recognize Internet addresses starting with ‘itmss:’.

Hi, I finally received my confirmation emails (with a 2-3 day delay): so I think you'll receive them soon, it's Apple messing up (they know how to make iPod bombs but their servers leave something to be desired :p lol).
