Scan too large!

Hello,

I am trying to scan some photos, the quality is perfect, but I find that the size is too large (larger than the original photo). How can I get a more "standard" format (like 400x300)? Personally, I am using "Adobe Photoshop Album Edition Découvert 3.2". Thank you in advance
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.3
