Question

Hello, I bought a Carrefour brand mp4 player. Everything works fine except the video; it plays the xvid format, but I've tried plenty of methods and it won't play any of the videos.

Hello,
After a stop at CARR... the seller gave me the thing, in the CD, in the WIN98 folder run SETUP.EXE even under XP, then you will be able to install the video conversion utility. For your information, the player accepts AVI format with xvid compression and WMV format. The size of the video is 320 * 240, the frame rate is 30FPS for the sound MP3 64kbps. I tested it and now it works!

Hello, I bought the same MP4 as you. I have Windows VISTA, and when I connect the player via the USB port, only the buttons light up, whereas the manual states that the screen should also turn on. Furthermore, my computer does not recognize the MP4. How did you manage the installation?

I take back what I said... I found the solution by going through the documents provided on the CD.

For this reader (bmp8807), you need to use the 220x176 resolution from the provided conversion software, which corresponds to the 2" of the screen.

And now it works perfectly ;)

Hello  For your information, on certain Carrefour mp4s, the video format is MTV  To convert your videos, use VIDEOCONVERTER

Hi Zigomax, tell me I probably bought the same MP4 player as you (the packaging box is light blue). I haven't tried to put a video on it yet because I'm having a problem accessing the music I've put on it. Every time I turn on the device and want to go to the music section, the screen turns blue and it says system file error. Did you have the same problem? If so, can you help me? Thank you very much.

For those who can't read Carrefour's mp4 videos, you need to:

- Put a video in MTV Video converter (installation CD) (note that it doesn't open all videos)
- Then as soon as the conversion is complete
- My Computer
- HDD
- Program Files
- Output folder
- And normally the video is inside in MTV format
- You just need to drag it into the mp4 (playlist)

I hope I've helped some of you because it took me a whole day to figure this out.

And I just noticed, there's no need to go into program files, after hdd there is directly the MTV_Output folder.

HELP!! So, I had a little problem with my BMP8208 and had to format it... Normal. But now!! When I turn it on, it shows me that thing about not listening too loud and for too long and then it shows me the hourglass image, waiting, I've left it like that for hours, the list won't show up... and when I connect it, I can't even find the folders... WHAT TO DO!!!

Hello everyone, it's been a while since this post was read, but since it's the first one, I had the problem too, but you have to use the conversion software provided because the only issue is the VIDEO RESOLUTION. I spent a week looking for a solution, but that's all it is!! Personally, I have the BMP820X and it's working perfectly now!!!

It's not the so-called "extension" format but the resolution format that's the issue!

It requires dimensions of 320x240 for it to work (at least on mine)

Hello, I bought the BMP8208 from CARR for my son for Christmas... The playback of MP3s and photos is fine, as is the radio. The problem lies with the video, with an error message "unsupported format". I would like to point out that the manual is brief, simply stating AVI format for videos, and the supplied CD only contains drivers for Win98SE. I also mention that I have tried many video formats. My request is as follows: If anyone has the same model and can play videos, it would be great if they could provide as much information as possible about the format, image size, bitrate... We can get this information by right-clicking on the file and properties.
