      Hello Jéjé

      can you tell me how to operate it because I'm not very familiar with this GPS, it's my wife's, I have a 269+ and I can do whatever I want with it, I kind of regret buying her this model because they don't provide updates

      thank you for your help
      best regards

      Make a backup of the SD via Michelin and format it.
      Or use another blank SD card.
      Copy the IGO8 folder to the root.
      Then create a new folder called InstallSD at the root.
      Next, copy igo.exe to InstallSD and rename it to InstallSD.exe.
      And copy sys.txt into InstallSD.
      Put your SD back in and IGO will launch automatically.
      Good luck.
      After that, I deleted the Michelin navigation software so it would be fully IGO thanks to Vampired that I found on GPS Passion.

      Hello jeje, I happened to come across your post and I also managed to get my X970T working with IGO 8 via VAMPIREP. However, do you have the TMC working? Because I'm struggling at that level.

      What I know is that it is on port 4, but I have no information regarding the protocol (gns, samsung, opentmcv1, opentmcv2, ETEN ...).
      Here are my [GPS] and [TMC] info in my sys.txt and system.ini:

      In SYS.TXT:

      [tmc]
      ;harman eten galik opentmc2 opentmc1 hyundai samsung amaryllo royaltek gns RDS
      ;source="opentmc2"
      port="COM,4"
      tmc=1
      periodic_autodetect=1

      [gps]
      com_port=1
      com_port_speed=4800
      protocol="NMEA"

      In SYSTEM.INI:

      [tmc]
      saved_config_available="1"
      ;saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_V2"
      ;saved_config_classname="GNS_GPSTMC_SOURCE"
      ;saved_config_classname="ETEN_GPSTMC_SOURCE"
      ;saved_config_classname="RDS_GPSTMC_SILICONLAB"
      ;saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_ROYALTEK"
      saved_config_portname="COM"
      saved_config_port="4"
      auto_tuning="1"
      saved_last_tuning_mode="1"

      As you can see, I forced COM port 4 but for the SOURCE, I deactivated it in sys.txt.
      If you could shed some light on this for me, it would be really nice.

    Good evening everyone, I am new to the forum. I have a Michelin X980T GPS with an SD card version 6.5 and I would like to install IGO8. I don't know where to find it or how to install it. Is there someone who can help me? Thank you, my friends.

    Hello, here’s my problem: I installed iGO 8 on my father's VM X 970T. It wasn't easy, but I managed to do it. The only issue I have left is the speed cameras. I tried putting the speedcams.txt file in the igo8/content/speedcams folder, but it didn't work, so I don't have the speed cameras menu in my iGO settings. On my Mio 268, I had no issues, though. What could be the problem? I've searched for several hours on various forums but haven't been able to succeed. Thank you in advance for your responses.

    Hey, I'm just here to say that I solved my radar issue on iGO8 on VM X970T. It was just a matter of the GPS catching signals for it to display the radars, and boom, the radar menu appeared in the settings. My dad is happy now ;-) . So, with a bit of patience, you know it's possible to install iGO8 (version 8.0...... not 8.3.2, at least I haven't tried that last version) on VM X970T, it’s all about having the right sys.txt file. Bye-bye, feel free to ask for explanations if needed.

      Hi,

      Could you provide us with a copy file of your GPS that we could just put on the SD card?

      Thanks in advance

        With an X980T, I have an issue: a first IGO window (version 8 bought today), then I get the message from viamichelin "no map present in the system"!!

        Yet I have a perfect configuration in the sys.txt:
        ----------------
        [project]
        name="igo8_pda"

        [folders]
        app="Storage Card/igo8"

        [interface]
        maxzoom2d=6000000
        show_exit=1
        -----------------------
        Conclusion: brand new IGO8 does not start....

        Any idea to help me? Do I need to completely unlock the device to avoid this type of issue? I wanted to avoid that.

      Hello

      Unfortunately, like many people, I purchased a vmichelin X970T GPS.
      No updates are possible; while browsing the forums I came across yours, which is very informative for the initiated, but not for novices like me. Could you describe the method or upload a tutorial?

      Thank you

    Hello,
    I have both Igo and Navigon installed on my 970XT,
    with a startup menu.
    The only inconvenience is the TMC.

    Bonjour, voici mon problème : j'ai installé iGO 8 sur le VM X 970T de mon père. Bon, ça n'a pas été évident, mais j'y suis parvenu. Le seul souci qui me reste, ce sont les radars. J'ai essayé de mettre le fichier speedcams.txt dans le répertoire iGO8/content/speedcams, mais sans succès. Je n'ai donc pas le menu radars dans mes paramètres d'iGO. Sur mon Mio 268, par contre, je n'ai eu aucun souci. D'où vient mon problème ? J'ai cherché pendant plusieurs heures sur des tas de forums, mais je n'ai pas trouvé de solution.

    hello sangavino

    Installation iGO8 on Via Michelin

    Use a blank SD card
    copy the IGO8 folder to the root
    then create a new folder InstallSD in the root
    then copy and paste igo8.exe into InstallSD and rename it to Installsd.exe
    and copy and paste sys.txt into InstallSD.
    put your SD back in and igo will launch automatically.

    but you'll have to give up on TMC and Bluetooth, you can't have it all!!!

    best regards

      Hello Manhattan

      After performing all these operations, I put the new SD card back in and the GPS is in demo mode.
      Do I need to do a hard reset?

      Thank you for your response

    Hello everyone
    I see this topic is picking up a bit, that's great...

    I wanted to know if anyone has tried the new igo Amigo 8.4.2.85182

    Otherwise, has anyone tried another navigation software?

    And last question, have you managed to install the speed cameras?

    See you soon, ladies and gentlemen....

    Hello to you all...

    Here we go, the topics are coming back....

    Just a question, how do you get a start menu that gives you a choice?

    And for your information, I'm on iGO AMIGO 8.4

    I'm going to test it in the coming days with Navigon, which version do you have?

    Thanks again to everyone....

    Hello, on my x970t I do as indicated with the iGO8 directory and the InstallSD directory, but the GPS always says "No map in the system."
    Some say to do a "hard reset." How do you do that? And what happens during the hard reset?
    Is it possible to return to the Viamichelin software afterward without reinstalling everything with the DVD?
