Hello, I wanted to know which game you think is better, PES 2009 or FIFA 09?
I know that the older PES games were rated higher than FIFA (on gaming websites) and in terms of players, PES has a slight edge, but maybe for this version FIFA can take the lead, I don’t know! It's up to you to tell me!
Thanks in advance!

I just tried the PES 2009 demo and honestly it's terrible, it looks like sticks on a field. Even the free kicks and clearances are poorly done, the gameplay is crap, you really get bored playing. Having tried the FIFA 09 demo, there's no comparison, at least in FIFA you feel like you're in the match. The movements, player reactions are real, in PES, the players react like on a Nintendo DS, it's really awful. This is just my opinion, though; I used to play PES, but now it's over...

If you're looking for realism, FIFA offers it, but if you're looking for ease, PES: a player can carry the ball from their defense to the other 18m and score a goal?
In FIFA, you can make player transfers, negotiations................. -
Fifa 09 doesn't even pose the question, I've been playing PES since ISS, they were far superior to Fifa back then.
But times have changed and so have the consoles, PES took a big hit last year, especially the online aspect with bugs that make you want to give up on the game.
Fifa has understood online well and the new plus is that everyone has the internet now, so online matches are booming.
Fifa 08's online was nice, far superior to PES, even in terms of "game," Fifa had made up its delay on PES and had caught up, much to my regret.
And this year, it's the rise of Fifa 09, it benefits from the internet, when you know you'll have player updates every week, they're in tune with reality. PES didn't have that, only an update at the beginning of February and then STOP. -
FIFAAAA, yet I have been a pro player since '98!! I mean Pro Evolution Soccer!! FIFA was going in circles but the wheel has turned today FIFA slaps PES hard. I played both demos on PS3, in FIFA you play technically, there's fluidity in the game, graphics, updates... you feel like you can progress and play beautifully!! PES 2009 luckily I didn't buy it, and I was able to get an idea with the demo: it's horrible, guys there are only idiots who don't change, okay they made efforts on defense (less pass-through) they tried to copy FIFA's "Become a Legend" but they're a masssssssssssssive failure!!! In 2008 they took us for fools and this year it's the same!! They stick to their achievements but against the competition that's no longer enough!!! They need to go back to work and finally prepare us a real surprise!! I'm nostalgic but back to basics for now so I say bravo FIFA!!!! A question if you can inform me I have some doubts about the quality of the online game 10 versus 10, the lines of each player need to be perfect for that and I still have big doubts!!! Has anyone tested this???? Thanks for the info, and get your controllers ready guys peaaaaceeeeeeeeeeeee

Hi
check the comments and FIFA 09 is announced as better than PES 2009 for the previous versions it's true that until last year PES was ahead but since last year it's FIFA that has clearly taken the lead.
Otherwise there are free demos to give you an idea. -
Hi,
I have also owned all the PES (and ISS before) without ever regretting or questioning the qualities of the game. But with my brand new PS3, I downloaded the 2 demos from the PS Store, and using the same controller setup, I have to admit that PES is lacking. Sure, it’s just a demo, but generally, it’s very close to the final result. What I find most regrettable is that since the beginning of the PES era, we keep falling into the same gameplay patterns. It’s not just a critique because it’s also what has made it strong, but one must know how to innovate. Personally, I haven't tested PES 2008 on next-gen, but I have to say that the 2009 version disappointed me. On the FIFA side, I find the game to be smoother, more intuitive, and of excellent quality. Added to what has made this title strong for years, fantastic aesthetics and atmospheres along with licenses, I believe we have the best football game currently. I will still wait for the final version of PES and the reviews that come with it, but I think my choice is already made for this year's console football...
P.S.: Please pay a little attention to your spelling on the forums, guys... some messages are unreadable.... -
Aside from ISS 2 and PES 1, I've had all the PES and ISS versions since 2000. My last FIFA was FIFA 2000, after which I really discovered real football. But it must be noted that today the trend has reversed and FIFA has pulled ahead.
The strength of PES was its gameplay, but now FIFA is ahead in this area. I bought it yesterday and even the seller told me he never thought he would play FIFA again, but well, Konami lies to its customers. It's not just that the game lacks novelty, but worse, it is regressing. The reference being PES 5, the 2008 was not good and I fear that the 2009 won't be great.
Before buying the PS3, I already had PES 2008 on PS2 and I have to say it is better than on PS3. At Micromania, they even told me that people who had it on PS3 were coming to exchange it for the PS2 version to play it on the 3. It's incredible.
To get back to FIFA, since I haven't connected it to my network yet, I hope to enjoy it especially with the new Adidas Live Season mode (updated via the internet with player performances in the game mirroring their real-life performances).
All this to say to everyone, especially to the die-hard PES fans (like me!) that even though it's hard to swallow, one must switch to the competitor because they are now the best! -
I have FIFA 09 and frankly, it surpasses PES at every level! The 10 versus 10 matches are great, although there are always some noobs playing the solo game, but with 9 friends, it's awesome; an arrow in front of your player indicates the positioning to follow. Much more realistic, especially for headers, it's not like PES where you just press and wait, no, here you need timing! Breaking through the defense is work, and when you score, it's pure joy! The graphics and the replays are fabulous!! You can crash into teammates and the referee, which is more realistic than going through them like in PES. There's absolutely no lag, at least for me. I used to be a PES pro, but that's over now; last year was the mistake not to make, now it's goodbye PES and long live FIFA, I strongly recommend it to you, and for those who say PES is the best, well try FIFA to see; I kept saying "yeah PES PES" but I was pleasantly surprised to see this FIFA, you really have to build your play, and there are no invincible teams unlike Inter in PES; every week the teams change, and we can't wait to see what the players bring to the game!
There you go, goodbye -
lol okay we didn't play the same game, FIFA crushes PES in everything saying that FIFA is arcade is really not knowing.
P.S: I was a pro PES until '06 but given the crap they released after I quickly changed. -
Fifa 09 is by far much better than PES 2009. Graphically, PES is at the end of the line for a PS3; having graphics like that is a disrespect... €70 for the game, and there are even fewer licenses in PES than in previous ones, which is outrageous. Now the new FIFA is smooth, technically sound, and the online mode is great. If you want to make a curled shot or a shot with the outside of your foot, you can do it. The atmospheres are top-notch, and the players' movements are far more realistic than in PES. I was a fan of all the PES games, but as they say, the tables have turned. EA has the money; Konami has nothing. No wonder we have a terrible PES this year, and in my opinion, it will be very hard for PES to climb back up.
My verdict is that FIFA 09 is the best. -

hi,
you know we’re not video game professionals and everyone has their favorite. Everyone will defend their opinion. Both games are good (thankfully) but one is better than the other (FIFA), which doesn’t mean we won’t have fun with PES. Because when we rely on video game professionals, the difference is clear between the two. I'll only mention one source: jeuxvideo.com, which rates PES 15/20 and FIFA 18/20. But it seems everyone mostly agrees with this viewpoint. (Just to be clear, I’m talking about the PS3 and X360 versions! Because on older generations PES is far ahead)
I believe that unfortunately for someone who doesn't have much idea on which to choose, they will have to try both and form their own opinion. The two titles are quite different and everyone will find what they’re looking for in one or the other... so hang out at friends' places who have one or the other (when it comes out) and play before buying yours! lol
happy gaming -
There’s something I don’t understand...
How can people say that PES is better than FIFA09?? (at least this year)
Those who say that haven’t tried FIFA09 in my opinion.
I own both games on 360 and I can tell you that my PES2009 WILL BE SOLD SOON...
What a pile of garbage, seriously, it’s like they’re mocking us, plus it’s always so easy to score goals.
As someone who plays football and has been a fan of this sport for 20 years now, what a pleasure it is to build up, to struggle to score a goal, because let me tell you friends, football IS NOT PES... starting from the opponent's half and scoring a goal...
In real football, we struggle to score a goal, to receive a pass, etc...
FIFA09 realized my dream, it did what I’ve been waiting for over 10 years, it created a football game that truly resembles football...
Anyway, if you're REALLY a football fan, get FIFA09.
If you know nothing about it, if you don’t care about the beauty of the game and realism, get PES.
Because let’s not kid ourselves, football fans and those who practice this sport will choose FIFA09. -
Olalalala All the Messages (175 !!!!!!!!!!!!) that I've received, I thank everyone who took the time to write even though I know some of them didn't only talk about PES and FIFA but thanks anyway and I ended up choosing FIFA, me a big fan of Pro Evolution Soccer, but well it was about time to change and I don't want to say it but FIFA is excellent and PES is not as good!
A+++++ and thanks again! -

so the same old story, I've always been a PES, ISS etc. fan... my last FIFA was 97!! and like everyone who is pro something, I didn't even want to try FIFA 08, nor even watch it, diving headfirst into PES 08 which, by the way, is a real piece of crap. but we have to face the facts, if all the PES fans are turning their backs today, there's gotta be a reason!!! and the others will buy PES just for the brand, out of fear of jumping into the unknown, and into the old bad game that FIFA represented. today everything has changed, or so it seems, because reluctantly I went to buy FIFA 09, telling the seller that I might regret this move... he replied that he had done the same and didn't regret it at all. anyway, for FIFA 09 I didn't appreciate the matches and the gameplay much, but in "become a pro" mode I'm having a blast, the view is gorgeous, the actions give me adrenaline, the moves are perfect... really well done. PES 09 won't be for me this year... always the same moves, the same shots, the same runs, the same saves, it's fine for a while but it's annoying!

To address all those who are hesitating between these two games, I’m going to give you my opinion. For true football fans who love the beautiful game, going to the stadium, watching matches on TV, or simply playing it; there’s only FIFA this year that meets all these criteria. Graphics, gameplay, stadium, chants of the supporters – you really feel like you’re there!
I’ve had all the ISS and PES up to 2008 and I’ve never enjoyed a game as much as FIFA 2009. It’s magical, the online mode is great, the updates, the Adidas season…
PES is going to take a serious hit. As I’ve read in previous articles, only fools never change their minds. Try FIFA; if you like it, sell it – you’ll have lost 20 euros… (You won’t regret it!)
but for me, by not buying PES, you save 70 euros… -

Why am I wrong??? Just because it's not your opinion, that doesn't mean it's not the right one?? I just gave my opinion, FOR ME, FIFA09 is better than PES2009, I prefer FIFA's style to PES's 10 times over, even though it used to be the exact opposite.
I find that PES has stayed the same, while FIFA has really surprised us since 08. For me, PES is: they add a few skill moves, redo the kits, the transfers, etc., and voilà, a new PES is released, that's how I see it now.
