Download not possible with Juice Solved

Question

Hello,

I use Juice to download podcasts but lately, there’s a little issue...
On the same site (europe1 to name it), the download pretends to start but stays at 0 Ko/sec then goes to "partially downloaded" and bam, it's finished. Until July, it was working fine and then nothing.
Has anyone encountered and fixed this issue?

Same problem for the RTL show "Les Grosses Têtes"! Downloading has been impossible for three days now, while everything was working before. What’s surprising is that it still works for other shows?? Any help?

Hello everyone,

I contacted the technical support of Europe 1. They are very professional and provided me with a solution that works.
There is indeed a limit with the length of the download path (the total names of directories that didn't bother it before).

Response:
In the meantime, we managed to download our podcasts with Juice by changing the destination directory of the podcasts. This change is possible in Juice from the "File" tab and then "Preferences."
You just need to choose a directory name on your machine that has fewer characters than the one currently used. For example, you can choose C:\ as the destination directory and then copy-paste the downloaded files to another directory.

Files may sometimes arrive with the .partial extension, which is unreadable, but if you change this extension to .mp3, it should work. It is also worth noting that Juice takes the rather unclear URL of the file to name the file. Therefore, you will need to rename it (don't forget the ".mp3" extension at the end of the name).

For now, this is the only method we have found to overcome this Juice issue. Certainly, it is a cumbersome operation that is far from satisfactory, and we continue to work on resolving this malfunction.

Hello,

I have the same problem as you, except that I apparently can't apply your solution!
I renamed the destination folder I indicate in "Preferences" to a single letter (short!), but it doesn't work. I think it's because in fact, it creates another folder for each podcast subscription, and it's this folder that it creates itself that can have a very long name. So???

Don't just rename the destination file, point the download directly to C:\ (or D:\) in preferences. This way, it will create a new folder directly at the root of C:\ (or D:\).

Hello,

I had the same blockage for 3 months, even though I had been able to download France Inter broadcasts without any problems for 2 years.
