Analyze a network hard drive with PICASA

Hello,

I have a small network set up from a router. I would like to make sure that the photos stored on the external hard drive integrated into the network are recognized by Picasa. However, when I try to add a folder in Picasa, this drive does not appear in the software's explorer. Network favorites do not appear either.
On the other hand, dragging and dropping the photo folder present on the external drive into Picasa does not trigger any scanning of the folder and its subfolders.
How can I trigger scanning of this folder by Picasa?
Configuration: Windows 2000 Firefox 3.0.2

Hello,
I found a way to sync a network hard drive with the folders from Picasa.
Here's how to map the hard drive

On Windows Vista or Seven, you need to open the Explorer (computer)
Select the "Computer" icon
In the toolbar, click on "Connect to a network drive"
The rest is relatively easy.

The network hard drive will then appear in Picasa.

Good evening,

Perhaps I was too brief in my response?

Here are some clarifications:
The hard drive is called diskstation and it can be accessed by entering the path \\diskstation
It also has an IP address assigned automatically at startup by the modem router from a selection within a limited number of addresses up to 5, which corresponds to the needs of my mini network.
I can assign fixed addresses to each device connected to the network.

Do these clarifications help in finding a solution?
