Hello,
Aloirs, here it is.
It all started when I had the idea of simply using other fonts that are nicer than the ones I have in WORD...
So I went online to downloads of free fonts...
All in .zip...
I install 7zip, the only free software apparently to open these things, which supposedly opens all this...
and it doesn't work!
Grrrr !
Could someone advise me what to do so that it works when I open WORD, with as few steps as possible, because I'm not a computer expert and because I would like to avoid having to undergo intensive training of 15 days to do something as basic as this!!!
Thanks in advance.

P.S IMPORTANT : I have Microsoft XP Professional

Hi there,
A little something trivial, download WinZip (which is officially paid), this software offers a free trial period, and finally a little tip: when the software expires, reinstall it and lo and behold it offers you another free trial period, and so on. So yes I know this isn’t very ethical, but at least it avoids paying out of pocket just for this kind of small thing. -
Hello,
The ZIP compressed file must be decompressed into a very specific Windows directory named Font, I think.
For the decompression there is WinZip in evaluation version perhaps. -
OK... I did that, that's not the problem!
but when I go to sites that offer these fonts and I open them with WinZip Free 45 Days or WinRAR Free 45 Days, the problem is that I get a nice page opening and when I click on the file afterward I can’t do anything, or maybe I just don’t know how to do it and that’s where I’d like someone to explain to me... -
Hi, here’s a WinZip tutorial http://www.rve.ulaval.ca/webct/Zip/winzip.html I find it quite complicated!!!
With WinRAR, you right-click your file and choose "Extract here", then you put what was extracted where you want and there you go

Does Word support these new fonts? It may not. Not all fonts are compatible with all word processors. If I’m not mistaken, I believe Microsoft offers new fonts for its software (assuming, of course, that they are certainly paid).

OK... to move faster, the question now is:
On which site can one find free fonts compatible with Word and that do not require an engineering degree +12 to install? !!!
Thanks in advance! -
There’s no need to be an engineer—you choose your font, you download it, you unzip it, and you place it in the appropriate file.

Okay, I’ve already been there, but the problem is that when I click on a nice font, it offers to open it with WinZIP, and when I click the file in the WinZIP window I get a pretty writing page with all the letters of the font in question and a sentence repeated in several sizes, but everything is fixed, I can’t place the cursor inside... anyway, I don’t know what to do!
-
You have to download them before trying to unzip them; once on your PC you unzip it and you right-click on what you unzipped and you choose "install".

okay... but when it's displayed in the WinZIP window, I don't know how to “dezip” it like you say, I've never used this gadget!!!
-
I just did it, it works on my end with XP and WinRAR

I don’t know Winzip, try to find a tutorial or use Winrar

Why don't people help you enough? Do it with WinRAR, it's that simple

Wait, I’m going to explain exactly what’s happening, I explained it poorly...
I went to DAFONT https://www.dafont.com/fr/tabun.font
then I clicked on download
a window opens titled "opening tabun.zip" "open with"
I click OK
a new window appears, I click "I accept" because it’s a demo version
WinZIP window opens with 2 files inside Tabun.ttf and bermee-info.txt
and that’s where it gets tricky, what should I do after? -
Okay, I understand better. When the "open with" window opens, does it also offer you "save the file"?

okay then choose this option instead. Then right-click your file and tell me if you have an option like "unzip here" or something like that

i have:
open with WinZIP
extract to...
extracting files...
extract to tabun\
create self-extracting exe
configure
etc.... -
Okay, you choose "extract the files" and there you choose your location, My Documents for example or others
