[Scam] buying car autoscout24

BERU -
 crispica -
I had the same kind of scam on an ad posted on AutoScout24 for a Discovery located in Seine-et-Marne.
He goes by the name Franck Siegel, and the phone number he provides in the ad is not assigned.
He claims he works in Germany and that he has family problems.
He apparently operates in the same way as those for cars purchased in England.

Hello,

Regarding the two "transport agencies," here is some information:

The number +44- followed by 70.. is a number that can be redirected worldwide.

http://kd-delivery.com
44 7031819502
+44 7031819849
WHOIS
http://samspade.org/whois/dvbtpdkuae5n6nd3a7ua3vcwdq

http://kddeliveryuk.com
: +44 7031819502
+44 7031819849
WHOIS
http://samspade.org/whois/frqtqdj4ikusixvhbd3gfwlr6e

Both have only been hosted for a few days and only for one year (which is a sign that this is not a legitimate business). Especially when we find on their sites: "our company, founded in 1992, has developed..."
These are some tools to detect fraudulent sites or to have doubts about the seriousness of these "companies."

Best regards

Hello everyone...

I also came across a very strange ad. An Englishman supposedly bought a car in Germany (Audi A3 TDI Quattro) and returned to England two years later. Here is the email in English!!

The vehicle is in good condition, has no technical damage at all, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects. It has title of ownership, cleared of any obligations or fees and comes with all the documents you need to register it. You will not have to pay additional taxes for this.
It's my personal car. I've listed the car under AutoPark so I can sell it faster, but it's my personal car.
I have worked in Germany for the last 2 years and I've purchased the car there. My company wanted me back home, so currently I'm in England (UK). I've brought the car home with me and it's now located in BRIGHTON, England.
I'm trying to sell it at this price because I don’t use it anymore (the steering wheel is on the left side and it's very difficult for me to drive it), it's a pity to keep such a car and not to use it. It's listed in Germany because when I posted the car on the website I had to use a German address.
I tried to sell the car in the UK, but nobody wants to buy a left side steering wheel car.
My car is already at the "http://kd-delivery.com" at their local representative. (I paid this company to take care of the transaction).
We can have a deal if you are really interested in buying it.
The price is correct and it's not negotiable and it also includes the transport.
Please write me back to discuss only if you are interested because I am tired of people that ask questions and are not interested at all.
Regards

Then he sent me another email

I already signed a contract with "http://kddeliveryuk.com" and I paid all the taxes and I have no interest in losing that kind of money. The car is ready to be shipped to any location. This is the only way and my only condition in this transaction.
(IF YOU DON'T ACCEPT THE TRANSACTION TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT INSIST WITH OTHER SOLUTIONS.)
Terms of the Transaction:
Here is how I want to go about delivery and payment for the car which will be through
"http://kddeliveryuk.com" and will also give you the chance to inspect the car before I receive the payment for it. I will explain to you step by step how this will work.
1) First you have to send me your shipping information (your name and address).
2) After I receive your shipping info, I'll go to "http://kddeliveryuk.com" and leave the car in your name and with your address as the intended receiver.
3) "http://kddeliveryuk.com" will check the car, also the legal papers to see that everything is OK with it.
4) You will receive a notification from "http://kddeliveryuk.com" as a confirmation that the car is in their custody and also that the car has been tested.
5) After that, you will have to make a deposit payment on the "http://kddeliveryuk.com" Department and address, as a guarantee, and send the payment information to "http://kddeliveryuk.com".
(You must send a deposit of 30% first and the rest of the money 70% after you will receive the car)
6) "http://kddeliveryuk.com" will verify the payment, and if everything is in order, they will deliver the car to your doorstep.
7) After you receive the car and you will be completely satisfied with it, you will instruct "http://kddeliveryuk.com" with your decision. You have 10 days to inspect it and take a decision.
If you don't keep it, they will refund back your deposit amount.
8) If for any reason you are not satisfied with the car, you will return the car to "http://kddeliveryuk.com" with no expense. I will not have any details of payment because they are confidential.
Let me know if we can do this.
NOTE:
SHIPPING TIME: 5-7 DAYS.
The money will be sent to the Shipping Company before you receive the car and not to me. I repeat they will keep your money until you receive the car and the documents of the car. You will have an inspection period of 10 days. In this time you can check, test, and inspect the car. A KD Delivery agent will be there to help you to register the car. If for any reason (the car has any hidden damage or it isn't like I described it) you can reject the deal. In this case, the Shipping Company will refund you totally and they will ship the car back at MY cost.
The car was verified by the Shipping Company qualified automotive technician and the car has passed all the tests with no problems.
Regards

What do you think??
Thank you very much.

Yes, it's a scam.
The site in question is a trap site that has already been reported on aa419.org and will soon be closed.

I completely agree with you. I saw a show on television some time ago about this fraudulent sales practice. It seems that it's an organization from Eastern countries that operates in this type of transaction.
It is certain that when you see ads like that, a car being sold for a third of its value, there’s definitely a catch.
I think they take ongoing ads from newspapers and transform them.
In the ad I contacted on the site, in the description of the car it was gray, but in the photo, it appeared dark colored.
Notice to future buyers. Sincerely, BERU

Cordialement

Hello,

I would like to intervene. I work at AutoScout24 and I have read your comments regarding certain frauds.
You have noticed a number of scams on the AutoScout24 site that have likely alerted or worried you, involving ill-intentioned individuals trying to defraud others who simply wish to buy or sell a vehicle.
Please know that AutoScout24 is doing everything possible to combat fraudulent use of the site by ill-intentioned individuals.
In fact, actions are being taken concerning sellers to verify their ads appearing on the site. However, remain cautious, especially when the ad seems too enticing.
Moreover, knowing that the legislation does not allow us to restrict the site, AutoScout24 prioritizes prevention. We try to mitigate all risks of scams by disseminating multiple warning messages available on the site.
There are, however, some basic rules to follow for any sale, the first and foremost being to meet the buyer (avoid remote transactions)
The second is not to make payments via bank transfer or money transfer services like Western Union, Mandat Cash, Money Gram, or others.
Finally, the third is not to send a copy of your identity card or vehicle registration document. This avoids identity theft issues.
That said, you can always request an opinion from the AutoScout24 customer service at the following address info@autoscout24.fr

Hello Autoscout24,

Thank you for these clarifications which unfortunately will not prevent scammers from posing as honest advertisers.
What measures has Autoscout24 taken?

Given the scale of these scams perpetrated through multiple classifieds sites including yours, prevention will always be a priority, but it seems to me that thorough control, particularly on the IP addresses of advertisers, could allow for significant filtering, knowing that these scams always come from people in West Africa.

I would like your opinion on this matter.

Sincerely

Hello ChrisVorascam,

We have received your notification,

As mentioned earlier, we cannot restrict access to the site, even with the use of an IP address, for legal reasons.

However, a number of measures are being implemented to reduce fraud, such as fraudulent listings and fraudulent buyer emails. All listings submitted on the AutoScout24 site are subject to verification, as well as all emails sent through the AutoScout24 site.

In the event that you come across a suspicious listing or receive a dubious email, please do not hesitate to contact us at the following address: info@autoscout24.fr

Best regards.

The AutoScout24 Team

All listings posted on the AutoScout24 site are subject to verification, as are all emails sent via the AutoScout24 site.

Indeed, if all listings are subject to verification, that's already a good start.

Now we need to define the verification criteria for listings... some still slip through.

Some sites have taken the initiative to ban certain IPs despite the otherwise inappropriate legal context, fearing that their liability could still be engaged.

You could very well miss a report. If a scam were perpetrated after this report, your liability could be engaged....

I will keep the address for reports and, with your agreement, I will share it.

I still see that on the listing page, there is an option to report an incorrect listing. It would be wise to add a field for "fraudulent listing" or "illegal listing" to allow users to report them more easily and for your team to act more quickly.

Furthermore, an explanatory box on your site's homepage would be welcome.

Sincerely.

Hello,
I can confirm that the scam mentioned on autoscout24 has occurred again for a Toyota Celica and a Hyundai Coupe which I was looking to buy, but thanks to your forum, I was able to warn our Belgian friends, Leboncoin.fr, La centrale, and Marche.fr where these vehicles were advertised for sale as I wanted to become the buyer. After scouring all the sites in search of the mentioned vehicle (Hyundai Coupe), I discovered the scam on your site three times: Toyota Celica sold from Valencia for €5500 / 40,000 km and after receiving the photos, I noticed that this car was being sold on your site, Leboncoin, and La Centrale with three different prices - three locations - the same photo, and the same description. Previously, a Hyundai whose Hyundai France - which replied to me - did not recognize the model "Hyundai Coupe IM" costing €3700 / 53,000 km from Sevilla, and finally the car coming from Germany was impossible to sell in England due to right-hand drive, Hyundai Coupe luxury pack 2004 (valued at €12,700) sold for €4000 / 15,600 km.
Not knowing much about the value of these vehicles, I fell for it! But when each of them asked me to pay (Valencia and Sevilla), I refused, especially since the Valencia seller lowered the price by €1000 to encourage me to buy, and the Seville seller insisted that I make the transfer before delivery. Adios muchacho!
And the last one made me believe that the vehicle was on the way... I had to immediately pay the transporter "UB transport" but in the meantime, I stumbled upon "car scam"! I want to thank you because, a bit thanks to you, I felt like I was having a good evening and uncovering a rabbit that had been chasing me for a week. I had no qualms about canceling these three fraudulent sales, all in Spanish and English. Thank you.

Hello,

The same remark for a scam on Autoscout24.es, a very tempting offer, too tempting:

BMW 320 Ci
Price: €10,000
Mileage: 97,000 km
Registration date: 06/2001
Fuel: Gasoline
Power: 125 kW / 170 HP
Transmission: Manual
Color: Metallic Black
Type of car: Second-hand

Ad details:
https://www.autoscout24.es/resultados?msgid=59&msgtp=2&id=156131993

Screenshot of the ad (which will disappear in a while):
Ad preview

Issues with this ad:
1/ The postal code 33456 does not correspond to the Madrid region and "3456" looks like 123456789
2/ The phone number is incorrect, another person answers
3/ The "seller" asks me for my details to send the vehicle to my address at their expense

Copy of a response from "Joan Valenciano":
Thank you for your email. This BMW 320 Ci is in excellent condition as you can see from the photos, it has never had accidents, nor scratches, and has all service records. I am currently in London and the car is here with me. The price is €10,000. Our meetings won't be a problem because I have a contract with a transport agency that takes care of the payment and transports the car to your address and I will pay them all the fees so you will not pay anything but the car. If you are interested in buying my car, let me know and I will explain the whole procedure to you, step by step.

I have written 2 emails to autoscout24.es to report it but have received no response from them.

I got scammed too. The car was supposed to come from Italy, but after paying money for transport fees, they asked for more and more money (VAT, etc.). They even had a very well-designed website to represent the transport company. Bye-bye my money...

The name of the transporter is Gytrans Cars. GYTRANS CARS is a scam.
