I don't know if this will help some of you, but I had a problem today when I started a print job, everything seemed to be working fine until I received the message "Unable to print, low-level local document."
Kudos to the error messages that are really clear for understanding in the meantime.
Actually, it's quite simple: when I installed the network printer, I added a local port.
For example: \\SRV-print\direct
However, I made a mistake in the name of the print queue; I misspelled it.
So for me, the problem was that I hadn't correctly written the print queue "direct" in the example above.
Strangely, when using LPR mode, I could name the print queue anything and it worked for me!
Test done on XP Pro and a network printer with an IP supporting the Microsoft NetBIOS layer.
