Samsung's Weekend Connections Record

Question

Hello,
I just bought the Samsung WE Record and I don't understand a part of the installation manual:
In step 3, after setting the time at level 3-4, "Please make sure the LAN cable is properly connected."
The problem is as follows: what is a LAN cable? Nothing is mentioned in the manual regarding a LAN cable.

Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.16

The LAN cable is used to connect the disk to a local network (between several computers), so if this is not the case, skip this step. Just use the USB cable for the computer and the HDMI or SCART cable for the TV.

HDMI works perfectly!!!  However, I can't see it in the network from my PC!!  The we record accesses my 2 PCs behind the Freebox router, but I can't "see" it in "My Computer"  Thank you for your help.

It seems that it's normal! Navigation takes place from the weekend. It's super convenient because during that time, we don’t do anything else with our TV!
The Wedigital hotline can only confirm... Just another push-button situation (not meant to be pejorative). I told them it was a shame because the machine was going to be returned to the store, but it didn’t change their answer: not possible, sir!

Bonjour ! Il n'est pas possible de brancher un appareil Samsung via USB directement à une télévision à travers un home cinéma. Généralement, les connexions pour la télévision et le home cinéma se font via HDMI ou d'autres types de câbles audio et vidéo, mais pas par USB.

I'm considering buying the WE Record 1 Tera, but it seems like it's a hassle to set it up for LAN.

Do you know what the situation is today?

Can multimedia content be transferred over the network from the PC to the HDD?

Someone said that you can only browse folders on a PC over the network, and only from the HDD's interface? If that's true, it's poorly designed.

Finally, what about the scheduled recording feature?

I am unable to download the latest HMR 350 firmware from Ellion. The received file is always incomplete (< 2 MB).
Can someone send it to me or does anyone know a link that would allow me to download it other than from the Ellion website? I have tried to download it at different days and times but nothing works.

Hello,

I have a FULL RECORD 1TB delivered with the ndas 3.20 software, but I can't "see" my WE from my PC.
I keep reading, but I'm not sure if the firmware mentioned above is compatible with the full record.
Can someone shed some light on this?

Indeed, the firmware we're talking about here is adapted for the TOTAL HD and I don't think it works with the full record, as there's no HD TNT card (not even regular TNT, actually). The other functions seem to be identical.
You can still try putting in the firmware for the Total HD which will give you access to the NDAS function that allows you to see the DDMM from the computer. However, if it doesn't work, I'm not sure if you'll be able to revert to the old firmware.
One more thing, I believe the Full record is a clone of a bunch of other brands. Check the posts above. If it doesn't work, you can always use the firmware of a clone since you just need to start with the button at the back and each time the firmware you want to use. So, in principle, no risk even if it crashes badly.

That said, those who advise are not the ones paying!!!

The full record has a TNT tuner (non-HD), but I'm still hesitant to update with firmware that isn't suitable.
Even though the firmware for the full record is available on the WE site, I'm unsure if a rollback is possible.

I didn't remember that the full record also had TNT.
But in my opinion, I think it's worth trying.
Anyway, if you can download the original FW, just put it on the root of a USB stick and start the DDMM while holding down the home button.
So even if it crashes, you can go back.

Once again, those who advise aren’t the ones who pay, but here it seems to me that the game is worth the candle (NDAS function included) and that the risk is nil.

Hello,

My problem is much simpler than yours :)
I can't record!
I want to record Csat through the Scart connection and it shows me a logo like "no parking" ^^
Once I managed to start the recording but after 20 seconds it said "Hard drive problem."
I deduce that the hard drive is rubbish :)
So I decided to return the unit... but I would like to exchange it for an identical one that works.
My question is:

Do you think it's just the hard drive or is recording Csat impossible because of encryption or other similar joys?
