Hello
I just bought an external hard drive for my backups, a 1TB WD Elements.
The seller told me that I just needed to plug it into the USB port of my PC running Windows 10 and that the installation would happen automatically.
When I plug it in, it is recognized, but nothing starts automatically:
The following appears:
- 1 autorun folder of file folder type; when I click on it, the WD logo appears
- a WD Smartware Pro Free Trial folder of file folder type
- an autorun file of configuration information type
- a Read Me file of PDF type that tells me that my drive includes a 30-day free trial version of the WD Smartware Pro backup software
I haven't tried to copy a photo, for example, out of fear of making mistakes.
What should I do, and is there anything I need to do before using it?
Thank you for your help.
