Hello, I bought a Creative ZEN 2GB last week on C Discount, it was working well and since I charged it, it won't turn on anymore! I charged it using a USB adapter that came with my old mp3, I thought the problem might be there, but when I plug it into my computer, it doesn't turn on either and is not detected. Also, I find it strange that the green light turned on all of a sudden after just 1 hour of charging! If someone can help me, thank you in advance!!!
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.16

I must be the only one with this problem...
Has my Creative Zen failed me?
I've tried everything... resetting it, letting it rest for several days, plugging it into the computer, nothing works... Should I send it back to the manufacturer or should I wait a bit longer? (It's been going on for a week...)
Thank you for responding. -
Hi
I have the same problem as you
this is the second time, how did you reinstall it if your PC doesn't detect it??
thank you -
Access Recovery/Rescue Mode on Your Drive
Summary: Your drive is equipped with a feature called recovery mode that you can use to restore the system after a malfunction.
1. Turn off your drive.
2. Press and hold >ll. Hold the button until you execute step 3.</souligne> If you accidentally release the button, restart the procedure by turning off your drive normally. If the drive freezes, press the reset button on the drive to turn it off.
3. Slide the On/Off/Lock button to @ and hold it until the screen lights up. The recovery mode screen appears, and the following four menus are displayed: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware, and Reboot.
Note: However, if access to recovery mode is not possible because the drive remains inactive or unresponsive, allow the device's battery to drain completely. Once the battery is fully discharged, please recharge the drive. After charging, try to access Recovery Mode to execute the suggested options.
4. Select Clean Up.
5. Once the cleanup is complete, the drive displays the recovery mode again, select Reboot to restart the drive. If your drive does not have a reboot option, turn it off normally and turn it back on.
6. If this solution does not resolve your issue, please install the latest version of the drive's firmware using the Reload Firmware option. For additional instructions on reloading your drive's firmware, please refer to the following article:
Note: Before updating the firmware, make sure to check and complete the following procedures:
* Backup all audio, video, image files or data stored on the drive to a safe location before changing the firmware. All content on the drive will be lost when installing new firmware.
* Close all active applications and background applications, including any media players and antivirus programs such as Norton Anti-virus. -

I'm also having the same problem, the reset button isn't working, I've tried everything, could you help me?

You need to contact Creative! That's what I did; they will ask you to do several things (that you have certainly already done). After that, you will enter the process for the warranty and either have a part replaced, have it completely replaced, or have it sent back to you... I went through the process (a few days before the warranty ended) and I don't know what they did with it, whether they changed the part or what, all I know is that it is on its way back!
As for you, contact the establishment (or the site) where you bought it and if it is still under warranty, see what steps you need to take!
Good luck! -

Thank you very much, I didn't know that the reset button existed
So it saved my life Xd I thought I had broken it
Thanks again < 33 -
You need to put a needle in the small reset hole. It happened to me before, and thanks to that... It works again!!

I don't want to say it, but the reset button is essential; however, with the problems some people have, like mine, it’s not enough. For example, it either won’t turn on or it only stops at the creative or Zen mode. I think the connection is dead, but I still believe in sending it back to the manufacturer: that’s what I’m going to try to do.

I had the same problem with a Creative Zen Mozaic, press the reset button and maybe your problem will be solved.

I just received my Creative Zen bought on sale from Cdiscount, and I have to say I am very disappointed. It worked for an hour. There was a crash during a file transfer. I had to reset it to turn it off. But now it won't turn on at all. I've reset it 30,000 times and nothing works. Plus, apparently, it was a refurbished item without a warranty. I'm fed up.
I strongly advise against purchasing this player. -
Same product, same brand, same issue. My Zen won't turn on anymore. Reset or not reset, charging or not, incantation with a multitude of incense sticks all around the device: Nothing!!
Joking aside, I agree with kwantum: we need to boycott the brand in question.
I won't buy any more Creative products! -

Amen, ABzzz! I've had a few MP3 players over the years and I will NEVER buy Creative Labs products again... It's a load of crap! I have a 4GB Zen that just died on me and I just bought it last Christmas. The little Reset hole doesn't do much! Not to mention that from the start, an MP3 that is only compatible with WMP and only works in MTP mode spells trouble. I'm so happy to throw it in the trash (sorry, to recycling), but I bitterly regret the 100 dollars that this junk cost me. (and I made the huge mistake of buying it used!)
