Metin 2 on Mac Solved

Question

Hello everyone, and thank you in advance for the answers you can provide me.

Here is my problem, for the past few days, I've been trying to go through all the possible forums to get Parallels working and successfully install Windows XP, with the sole aim of playing Metin 2.
The problem is, when I try to launch the game, this is what my nice little computer whispers in my ear...

Sorry, your system does not support 3D graphics, please check your hardware and system configuration then try again...

I don't understand this because during my quest I read several times that some games like Quake or Counter Strike could run without issue thanks to this type of software...

Could someone tell me if I'm on the wrong track and what I need to do to get back on the right path please?

Configuration: Mac OS X Firefox 2.0.0.15

Hi, with Crossover Metin2 works but only with Crossover 8 and not 7... There are bugs but at least the game runs fast. The only bug is the text... We can't see it very well.

Maybe your Mac, or rather your graphics card, isn't designed for this kind of game... What model is your Mac?  Ritchi

Well, I have the latest Core 2 Duo iMac, so I don't understand why it's not working, if this continues, I will have to resort to trying with Bootcamp...

The graphics card should handle it. Personally, I have VMWare Fusion for my rare Windows needs. Since I also have an iMac C2D Alu, I'm going to give it a try from VMWare Fusion and keep you updated. But not tonight because I need to download the game (500MB) and it's not going fast.

I installed Metin and signed up (since it's free) but to play you need to pay, so, stop!
If your problem occurred during installation (running the file Metin2_20080206.exe) then I had no issues.
If your problem occurs during a game, then sorry, I'm not going to pay just to find out if this game is playable or not on VMWare Fusion.

I received the email back from my registration, but apparently, to play, you have to pay (credit card, ...), something I have no intention of doing.  Ritchi

Oh really, yet I have friends who play it, and it's totally free, unless you want to progress faster or buy certain items, it's free.
You need to launch Metin from the folder you downloaded once you confirmed your registration and a window opens with several choices:
start the game
options
new account
edit account

Hello,
Metin 2 cannot work on a "normal" Mac with Crossover...
However, I own 3 MacBooks... And I have something really strange...
The first one is a normal MacBook, it's a year old (it was the most powerful normal MacBook at the time, around 1200 euros I believe...). When testing with Crossover 7, Metin 2 crashes the computer completely... => It doesn't work...
The second one is exactly the same MacBook as the other (with just a little less memory, I don't remember the figures). With the SAME Crossover, Metin 2 launches without any issues... (Apart from the font issue and disconnecting when there are many players on the map)
My third one is a MacBook Pro (a brand new one I got for over 1300). With Crossover 8, the game doesn't launch at all...
Why?
