premium download activation code Solved

Question

Hello,
I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 on my new laptop purchased from RDC.
Anyway, there’s a problem that has been bothering me for a few days: it actually started since I've been trying to reinstall everything I usually use on my computer... So far, I've managed to handle it, but for the last three days, despite numerous forums, I can't find a solution to my problem.
I'm trying to install WinRAR and a message appears: "you are using a premium download, to continue, you need an activation code" and it asks me to text a code to obtain my code, which will allow me to download my "free" software for about €6...
This issue didn't exist under Basic Vista...
And I absolutely do not want to pay €6 for every download I’m going to make...

If by any chance someone had a solution... Thank you in advance.

Good evening Winrar is paid software, so if you don't want to pay 6 euros, install a free compression and decompression software (like 7-Zip... or another one).

Do you know if this is a new system implemented by Vista to prevent certain downloads? Or could it be software that is blocking it on my laptop? (there are so many things installed that I don't know... even though I've tried to understand what it's all about...)
Before, on XP, I could do whatever I wanted... but to be honest, I still don't understand the "premium" concept.
And since I'm a girl, well, I like to understand ^^

Hello, I have this problem too. I want to install CCleaner on my laptop and I even have to enter two codes. I paid to install K-lite thinking that it would only ask me for one code. What should I do?

This premium download system has been set up by a team of scammers who modify the installation files of these applications to include a request for a code.
They have nothing to do with the publishers of these software, which are generally free (like eMule). For WinRAR, paying these 6 euros will not exempt you from paying for a license if you want the full software.
Generally, they host these files on servers whose names resemble the real ones.

For example, http://www.e-mule-fr.com/emule/ instead of the official site
https://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/general.cgi?l=1

Moreover, they even appear in Google as sponsored links, which shows that they are not hesitant to pay to scam others...
