Solved

Hello,
Hello everyone
I need your guidance to help me.
I would like to write a text on a photo.
I have PAINT, when I insert my photo and it is in full screen at 100% then I reduce it to 50%
So I can write and now the little text icon is no longer functional.
Here's my problem, maybe I’m not doing it right, so please guide me on how to proceed.
Thank you in advance
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hello absinthe06
Yes, I can write when it's at 100%, but I have no reference point, it's really a silly problem that I see if it's that. Hey, do you know about photo editing? Thanks

      Hello,

Make your selection... Press Ctrl+C to copy and then click on the photo where you want to insert your selection and then click "Paste" or Ctrl+V

        Hello Maxou
I followed the technique for how I did it. I took out the piece and my image, then I copied the piece and then clicked on the image and pasted (it shows paste and below it says drop pixels), there’s a little square turning in the top left and when I go to move it, it says resize the pixels.
I even tried to take the piece directly (cut, copy and paste) and I got the same result.

I finally succeeded Maxou, and I’m going to tell you the big mistake you shouldn’t make like me; I performed this operation on a piece as small as the save button. So I couldn’t see that I was going over the area where I could move the piece. I didn’t count how many times I started over.
But I’m happy, a big thank you again Maxou with big kisses.

I use Windows Paint. To write text on an image, I clicked on View, Zoom, but "Normal Size" does not activate (no highlight). However, I have done this before and it worked fine. What do they mean by Normal Size? Do they mean that the photo must be at its original size? When the photo comes from the Internet, how can you tell if it is at normal size? (1) Since it wasn't big enough, I enlarged the photo using W Picture Manager, put it back in My Pictures, then brought it into Paint. But it doesn't work.
    (1) Does Normal Size mean Normal Mode like in Word? Thank you for your response.

Hum, Paint and I don't get along; I haven't used it in a long time, but if I remember correctly, when you change the zoom on an image, you can't write text over it anymore (yes, yes, it's stupid, but that's how it is). Try writing your text at a normal zoom, or switch to something less... archaic ;) (Photoshop is your friend...... :p)

    Hello,

For the color, before you start writing your text, bring up the "Colors" window ("Window" - "Colors" or F8).
Then, once your text is written, click somewhere in the color range or on one of the main colors below!

For moving it, I think you need to adjust it before leaving the text... but I'm still looking to see if there's a trick!

Checked, it is no longer possible to move it once it has been deselected!
In fact, once you leave your text, it becomes an integral part of the background image.
So, all modifications and positioning must be done while it is selected.

Some have thorns and some don't, that's their character
The petals are the softness of their skin
This pretty rose opens up, just like they open their hearts to us

I had the same problem as Bambou (today at 8 p.m.).
And, by a fortunate coincidence, Maxou had just provided the solution at 5 p.m.
      Perfect. Long live Maxou.

      Hello Maxou

I am very happy with paint.net. I’m discovering it little by little and I find it easy to use. Well, even if I haven't discovered yet all the uses of certain things and even how to handle other tools. It would be too easy to discover everything all at once.
It’s like women; they like to be desired.
      See you, Maxou

        Hello Bambou,

Yes... learning... all the time! But it's by forging that one becomes a blacksmith...

        Hello Maxou
As you say, it's by forging that one becomes a blacksmith, but I am still an apprentice trying and trying again. When we can't figure out how to do something or don't understand, we turn to someone we trust for direct and honest advice. Just like you always have.

I have three small questions that I am asking.

        (1) With the new one, I can cut, but I can't keep the cut piece.

        (2) I couldn't find any information about the clack (what it’s for) and of course how to use it.

        (3) My mother brought me a photo of my village from above, but I had to scan it in four parts, so now I want to combine the four into one. Do you have a tip for that?

        Thank you in advance.

    (1) With the new one, I can cut out, but I can't keep the cut-out piece.

You make your selection... Ctrl+C and then you can create a new image by clicking "File" "New" or simply Ctrl+N! (and the new image will have the right size) then "Paste" or Ctrl+V

    (2) I couldn't find any info on layers (what they're for) and of course how to use them.

If you draw on a layer (for example), it allows you to position it on the image by moving the layer... But when you paste a piece of image, it automatically creates a layer!

    (3) My mom brought me a photo of my village from the sky, but I had to scan it in four parts, so now I want to combine the four into one. Do you have a tip?

Yes, take the first image (the one on the top left), go to "Image" "Canvas Size" and double the width and height of the image... Then, take your second image, do "Select All" Ctrl+A - "Copy" Ctrl+C... go back to the first and "Paste" Ctrl+V... position that one and continue with the other two...

    ;-)

I don't know if you will get this email
I would like to ask you a question since I see that you are familiar with PAINTNET.
I want to take a piece from one photo and paste it onto another photo. I've tried many times, but I can't do it. Is it possible, and if so, could you tell me how to do it?
      Thank you in advance

    Hello Lucie,
How do you go about taking a piece of a photo?
To take it, you need to select it with the tool at the very top left.
Then you copy and paste, open the other photo, and paste it.
After that, you just have to move it.

    Hello,

If you can't find a solution, download Paint.net here: https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/photo-graphisme/16833-paint-net/

    It's free!

I just checked: no problem with the text tool at 100% as at 10%!

      Hello Maxou and everyone
      Thanks again Maxou
Paint .net is fine, just a few little issues with sliding, for example a word that I didn't place well. I haven't figured out how to change the text color yet.
      See you!

    Sorry,
    I expressed myself poorly earlier.

To take a piece of a photo and then put it on another photo, here’s how you should proceed:

    - Take the rectangular selection tool (S)
    - Select the area you want to take.
    - Take the "move pixels..." tool (it’s the top tool on the right)
    - Press ctrl C
    - Open the new photo,
    - Press ctrl V
    - Move the piece of photo where you want it on the photo.

Let me know if you have any trouble

I can provide image tutorials on my forum to make the task easier otherwise...

Maxou, I don't understand. I just did the 12/3 and when I want to move the piece, it changes size at the same time as I move it and it says in the small window on the right (resize the pixels).
Thank you for helping me out.

        see you tomorrow.

How do you go about editing text? Highlight the text you've written on a photo to ultimately change the font? I can't find the tool... to select the characters?
