Hello,
Hello, I have a Compaq Presario 700 and I was wondering which key to press to access the BIOS because I find that my computer is getting a bit too hot and I would like to increase the fan speed...
If you have my answer
Thank you in advance.

What a joke
in Google I type Compaq BIOS key
and I get
http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich 2674986 how to access the BIOS of Compaq
http://www.infos-du-net.com/forum/12762-6-access-bios-compaq

make an effort, come on, it doesn’t deserve a topic..
Forget Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8 and why not try Firefox 3.0, if you are curious, you will forget IE. -
Well, let me explain, my first laptop is the Compaq Presario 700, it's quite an old laptop (with 128 MB of RAM originally).
For now, it’s been 7 years and since it’s starting to overheat a bit, I wanted to know if it was possible to increase the motherboard fan speed as on certain BIOS, YES it is possible (like in the BIOS of new Asus computers).
But not on mine, I just checked, so I’m going to try downloading Fan Speed to increase the fan speed. It will be louder, but if it helps cool it down, that’s not too bad.
Thanks Graffitir for providing the solution. -
a little explanation it's mostly for the fan that I need a hand...
as for firefox I don't use it on this pc because it's very old I'm trying to use a minimum of memory and programs and yes I got into the bios but no I didn't find where I could increase my fan...
the version of my bios doesn't allow me to do that
ica is not marked on my bios what version it is it's just a phoenix bios...
so if you have some more serious suggestions please let me know to move things forward
thank you-
Honestly, be clear because I don't understand anything about your explanations. You talk about the fan, but which fan are you referring to?
Even on motherboards costing 250€, you don't control the fans from a BIOS. You display their speed. That's it. So on a compact, forget about it. If the compact is old, then it's game over. ^^ You won't be able to do anything
A compact is not made for heavy lifting; otherwise, you need to buy a custom-built one.
What's your problem exactly?

Download FANSPEED. If you can't do it, then there's no solution to your problem. Change your phone ^^

Problem solved thanks to SpeedFan, my motherboard is keeping at 38 degrees
Thank you-
I had a heating problem that was resolved by replacing the original thermal paste between the processor and the radiator, which is of poor quality. Clean the spot and the radiator of the old paste with a cotton swab and acetone (nail polish remover for ladies), apply good thermal paste, and you're done.
Don't forget to lift the feet of your Presario so that air can circulate.

I have the same problem as all these gentlemen whose PCs are overheating, except that mine must have overheated too much since it no longer turns on?
What should I do in this case?
Is the motherboard dead???
Thank you in advance for your help, the life of my PC depends on it.
