Footer note separator

Solved

Hello, I'm back. I'm in the process of writing a thesis and I'm currently working on the footnotes. Everything is going well except that the separator (line between text and footnote) is super high, I'm losing space.
Does anyone know how to lower it... I can't figure it out...
Thank you

to modify a footnote separator, you need to do (in Word 2007):
    1 > view Draft
2 > references >> show footnotes (you choose between the two options provided)
3 > there in the bottom window, you choose the footnote separator (not to be confused, of course, with the continuation separator for footnotes, lol)

and finally you make the changes of your choice

there you go, it's done ...

I followed your discussion closely; I had the same problem. I'm also in the process of finalizing my thesis, and my footnotes are not making things any easier. I saw that you found the solution. However, my version of Word is in English, and I'm having trouble finding my way around...

Bravo Bagdadi, it works even with Word 2010! Thank you.
