Footer note separator

In Word 2010:
- switch to draft mode
- click on "References" and then "Show Notes". They will appear at the bottom.
- in the gray bar, modify the "All Footnotes" window using the arrow on the right by selecting "Footnote Separator".
- below, the current footnote separator will be displayed.
- place your cursor at the top left and press "Delete"
- if your separator was too low, it will move up.
- if it was too far right, it will move back to the left.
- switch back to print layout or outline, and you're done.

Try the following:

- Display the document in Normal mode
- View menu => Footnotes
- In the drop-down list of footnotes, select Footnote Separator
- See if you can remove the space that follows the separator

Hello,

I don't quite understand your problem, as the footnotes start from the bottom (from the edge of the margin) and rise according to their size. So if there is only one note on the page and it only takes one line, it will be positioned as low as possible.

Do you have a space between the separator and the note?
