Free plug sync problem Solved

Question

Hello,
I can't seem to synchronize the 2 free plugs knowing that the ADSL box is on the first floor and the ADSL box is connected to my TV in the living room!!
I've tried all your techniques but nothing works. When I press the button for 2 seconds, the green light flashes, so I rush to the first floor to press it. The button flashes green, but after 1 minute, both buttons flash simultaneously in green and then stay solid, no orange LEDs!!
What should I do?

Many synchronization problems come from the outdated Freebox TV box.

In this case, you should connect your ADSL Freebox to the Freebox TV using the yellow Ethernet cable and then reboot both.

You will notice after a few minutes that the Freebox TV changes from "network" to "rock'n'roll."
Then disconnect the yellow Ethernet cable and resynchronize the two freeplugs (1 second on each freeplug is enough). After a brief moment, the synchronization will happen automatically (that is, a green and orange light on each freeplug).

I received my freebox last week and I had exactly the same problem

1) Two seconds is not enough, you need (for me) nearly 10 seconds
2) After that, you either run or you try several times with someone in front of the freebox and you in front of the HD box.

The first time I managed on my own and today I had to resynchronize and I had to call my lady for help :-) ...

You need to give the boxes time, but 2 or 3 seconds as they say is notoriously insufficient..

In fact, instead of the 2-3 seconds proposed by Free and the 10 proposed by Fandelaja, you should choose one second and it works very well. After experimenting by increasing the time and reducing it to a minimum, it works very well.

Hi, I managed to synchronize by rebooting my ADSL and HD box several times. I thought everything would be okay, but oops, my HD box is stuck on network. I have made an appointment with a technician, but it’s really a hassle!! I will keep you updated on the results, normally on September 4th, good luck!!!!
PS I should mention that for the synchronization I pressed the HD freeplug for 2 seconds, then quickly pressed the ADSL freeplug for 2 seconds.

I just plugged my two free plugs into a common power strip for synchronization
once the synchronization was completed, I unplugged both free plugs and plugged them in where I wanted them to be
the synchronization was maintained

Here it is! I just received my free plug classic as well as my powerline adapter. After connecting it, the free plug classic shows a green LED and an orange LED (as explained in the "manual" provided), my powerline adapter shows a continuous green LED, and yet... no internet connection on the second device! I can't find the problem... if anyone has the answer...

Hello everyone,

No worries with the freeplug, quite the opposite, it’s impressive how quickly it connects. At first, I prepared all the devices, the Xbox, the PC, and others by assigning fixed IPs. Basically, in the settings of each device it looks like 192.168.1.10, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.1.1 for me, then feel free to choose. After that, I plug in the main freeplug for power and the RJ45 cable into my Ethernet switch, then I connect the classic freeplug. I press the main button for 1 second, and then I go to the other one (it flashes red, green, red, green, etc.), I press the flashing button, and it shows green; I test it and it works.

And afterward, I can unplug my classic freeplug at any time and put it in any room, and it connects right away.

Hello you clueless people!!!!!

Well, it's super simple actually:
1. plug one freeplug into the ADSL box and into a power strip.
2. plug the second freeplug into the same power strip but without the HD box.
3. press the buttons to synchronize the freeplugs as indicated in the manual.
4. you can unplug the second freeplug and plug it back in (somewhere else in the house or apartment) to the HD box. It will be synchronized with the ADSL box freeplug.

And there you go!!!!!

My only problem regarding those who replied is that I have the old freeplugs: without a reset button!

Yet, a few months ago, it worked by itself as soon as I plugged the freeplugs (connected to the boxes) into individual outlets for each!

Resetting the two boxes didn’t change anything!

It’s a shame that Free doesn’t really follow up...............I have been a very old customer of Free, and that has always been the problem!!

For synchronization or communication issues with the HD, it is essential to remove all the multiple sockets on both sides: Freebox and HD. Connect directly to a wall socket.

It works very well with power strips. My Freeplug Freebox and HD are on power strips and it works perfectly. However, I have a classic Freeplug that I can no longer synchronize.

The freeplugs must be unplugged from the free boxes and plugged into a power strip to proceed with their association.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to confirm the power strip trick.

Here's how I proceeded to solve my problem (my freeplugs were staying green):
-I unplugged the 2 freeplugs from the Free boxes
-I plugged the 2 freeplugs into a power strip (for proximity)
-I pressed the button on both boxes at the same time for 1 second (do not wait for the green light to go out).

And then after about ten seconds, they are synchronized (orange and solid green)
I reconnect everything to its original place.

If both freeplugs are red:

put them on the same power strip without surge protection.

Press and hold the first button for 2-3 seconds, and do the same for the second one.

The two buttons will flash in all colors for about 30 seconds. When they are both green, you can plug them back into their original positions.

Thank you, I've tried everything and nothing worked since yesterday strangely enough, and just by pulling an Ethernet cable to the TV player, it worked. I pressed for a second on all my plugs and everything is working again, thank you.
