Hello,
hello to you, I'm new to the forum. I need your help to know exactly where the root of my hard drive is and how to recognize it.
sorry, but I don't know anything about computers.
I’m using Vista Home Premium: 160 GB hard drive, 768 MB RAM, 2.40 MHz AMD64 Athlon +3400 processor.
And I have several hard drives (that probably don't do anything useful), here they are:
C/
DVD-RW DRIVE: D
DRIVE: E
Could you tell me where it is? Thank you for your help, see you later.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.14

    The items named "Reader" are DVD players, at least I think you have a DVD burner and a CD player if I'm not mistaken.

    The "C:/" corresponds to your hard drive, in fact when you click on "C:", you get the list of your files, and at that moment you are at the root of your hard drive.

    Root = C:/

      Hello Arth, and thank you for responding so quickly. When I click on C:, I see four folders: perf logs, program files, users, and windows. How do I know which one is the right one? Thank you, talk to you later!

    I just explained to you, the root is "C:/", and the folders Perflos and the others are said to be "at the root" because they are in C:.

      If I understood correctly, it is in: perflogs - program files - windows.
      All of this represents the root of the hard drive!!!! Thank you for your response.

      Hard for me, computer science. I was looking for my hard drive just 30 minutes ago. In any case, everything is fine, I understood well, and a big thank you to you. See you later on the forum.

    Not the root is C:/, what is just below C:/, that is Perflogs etc is said to be at the root of the hard drive.

    The whole does not represent the root.
