Card not initialized on Fujifilm F10

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my Fujifilm FinePix F10 digital camera.
It says "card not initialized".

How can I get it back to normal functioning?
I tried deleting the photos from the card, but that didn't work.

    Hello everyone,

    I didn't wait for an answer to the question posed in my post above.
    I found a way to initialize my card.

    I'm sharing the method in case any of you encounter the same issue.

    Connect the camera to the PC and turn it on. The PC should recognize it.
    Go to Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, click on Computer Management.
    In the hierarchy, click on Storage then Disk Management.

    Select the volume recognized by the system corresponding to the camera.
    (be careful not to erase any of your local partitions on your PC!!)

    Right-click on the relevant volume icon and format it.
    The operation takes about 5 minutes.

    Then, from My Computer by clicking on this volume, you will see that it is empty.
    Disconnect the device safely. Turn off the F10, then turn it back on, the card is initialized.

    I think this should work with all memory cards since it is recognized as a hard drive.

    It's easy, why connect the device to the PC and search, nothing of that. I have a Fuji Film F11, I had the same problem, except that I resolved this issue through my device itself without resorting to the computer. When I saw the message "card not initialized," I simply pressed the button in the back (MENU/OK), and there I entered the menu and then with the down arrow I reached the section "SET: ENTER," I pressed again and found 4 tabs below each of which had a list of commands, at the end of the 4th tab of this list I read "Init," that’s where I confirmed the initialization, after almost 2 minutes, everything was back to normal, and there you go.

      That's exactly it, whether you're looking at your photos on a Mac (which is my case) or on a PC, the action to take is the one suggested by Tunisiano. Don't pay attention to the formatting message: you'll find all your photos afterward. Thank you.

    On the concerned volume icon, right-click and then format it.
    The operation takes about 5 minutes.

    Then, from My Computer, by clicking on this volume, you'll notice that it is empty.
    Safely disconnect the device. Turn off the F10, then turn it back on, the card is initialized.

    I think this should work with all memory cards since it's treated like a hard drive.

    Hello everyone,

    It seems to me that there is a bug with the recognition of the Fujifilm XD memory card.

    Here is an image of the solution I found for my FINEPIX Z10

    Salut, j'ai eu le même souci avec mon S5700, il me disait carte non initialisée !! J'ai été dans mon poste de travail !! J'ai cliqué gauche sur ma carte, j'ai fait reformater !! Je n'ai pas fait un formatage rapide et je n'ai pas choisi l'option FAT32, ça prend juste NTFS, après tout, ça a bien formaté et normalement tout est réglé !! Je te souhaite une bonne journée et à bientôt pour de nouvelles infos ;) !!!

    Problem here with a Fuji A610, the solution is simple folks:
    FORMAT your card!
    If the problem persists, buy a new one.

    To format your card, go to the settings via the menu and look for this option. I'm not talking about erasing or deleting, but about formatting. It "purges" your card, clears all the unnecessary data and folders!

        I'm having the same card issue. I'm using a Fuji S1000. I don't understand. I followed your advice, but when I get to the computer management, I don't see how to format the volume corresponding to the device. The only volume is C: partition, but that corresponds to the hard drive of the computer, not the device... What should I do?

        Hello,

        Is the device recognized in the workstation?
        Apparently not. The PC needs to recognize your device first.
        To do this, connect the two using a USB cable and then turn on the camera.
        The PC should automatically recognize the camera.
        If it does not, you need to install a software provided with the camera.
        It's a CD-ROM. Install the software and then try again.

      To initialize your FUji X10 card, simply go to Menu, then to Settings, click on Initialize, and if that doesn't work, click on Format; it should work (be careful, this will erase all your data).

      Hi everyone, so here I have the same problem! I tried to put a photo on my memory card from my scanner, and since then my card has been displaying an error message "card error" it seems, so I decided to format it thinking it would solve the problem, and now I have "card not initialized"!
      I tried connecting it to my computer, but it doesn't detect it, even though the software IS installed on my computer, that's why I don't understand...
      I have the Fuji S1500, thanks in advance!

    Good morning, is it possible with the SD card inserted into the PC to right-click on "This PC", then click on "Manage", then click on "Disk Management", right-click on the card and format it, close the removable disk and put it back into the device. Good luck!

    on Finepix HS 10 and earlier versions with SD or xD card
    Hello, just format the memory card to FAT32 and not NTFS
    My Computer / removable disk ) right-click / format choose "FAT32" from the file system dropdown menu and it works!!!
