Opinions on the Lenovo brand

What do you think of this brand?
What has your experience with this brand been like?
In a word, its strengths and weaknesses.

For informed info about this brand / Know that Lenovo is a reliable, quality brand (IBM) and works perfectly with Linux. There are many misinformed people, not to say trolls, in the comments above. Let me explain my experience. Around 2005, I was gifted an IBM laptop as a reward for a service rendered.. It wasn’t brand new as it had been used by a high-tech German company, and I took advantage of recycling PCs so… This was my first experience with the world’s first computer manufacturer (in chronological terms). I was more familiar with this brand for its grim role during World War II, but I realized afterwards that if all the big companies at that time sourced their PCs primarily from this manufacturer, it must be for a reason (it’s true that it didn’t work too well for IBM in the consumer market)... To my surprise, this laptop that I did not pay for was very sturdy (it fell several times) and performant. It must have taken a big fall for it to die. Recently, I had acquired a low-end new PC from Toshiba that I was running in dual with Linux but had many issues with Linux. Then it turned off suddenly without explanation (motherboard dead). I didn’t drop it, I swear. So I went to see a Chinese guy to replace it with a second-hand one without breaking the bank, and for 300 euros, he offered me this Lenovo brand that I didn’t know from Adam or Eve (very skeptical). The seller told me with an accent: "Don’t worry, very good PC for Linux, if not working, I’ll give you another". Indeed, I’ve had it for a year and having tested different Linux distributions on several brands, I must say that the compatibility of Fedora or Ubuntu 14.04 is perfect with the Lenovo 20004. I am very satisfied with this brand for now. I’m not a fan of Chinese brands, but one must realize that if most consumer technologies are now made in China, it’s normal since China apparently controls 90% of rare earths (essential mining resources for miniaturized components of all gadgets).
