Hello,
I can't connect my Canon A650is camera to the USB port of my PC because during installation I get a failure with the message on the side "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of this device driver is present in memory. (Code 38)".
I went into Device Manager, image devices, and Windows recognizes a digital camera.
I have uninstalled and reconnected my camera but without success.
I have already connected my camera to another PC, it works.
I can read my SD card on my PC’s card reader, but I would like to resolve this issue.
Does anyone have any idea? Or if anyone has a Canon A650is connected via USB, is it listed in the registry?
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone,
It's good, I found it. It's a conflict with an old Plustek "Optic Pro UT12" scanner.
In "control panel, system, hardware, device manager and imaging devices".
I first removed my Canon 650 camera that was causing error 38. I disabled all the other devices installed in "imaging devices". I rebooted the PC and reinstalled the Canon 650 camera without any issues.
I then reactivated my other devices one by one to find that the scanner was crashing my camera.
There you go.

Same issue with Plustek scan.
