BLACK SCREEN after installing NVIDIA drivers

No, my problem is not resolved, but I know it's a matter of dialogue between my graphics card and my screen.
I changed the screen and it's fine. But I still don't know why......

As for you, check the graphics card, is it properly seated?? Test it with another one if you have the possibility.

No, there is nothing written, I know I'm on Windows because I can hear the startup sound. And yes, I can go back to Windows as long as I boot in safe mode to uninstall the drivers. But it runs very poorly without the graphics card.

Same here, I unplug and plug the screen back... and it works...

EDIT AND REMINDER; TIP:

- You should know that if you disable the Graphics Card from the Device Manager by entering Safe Mode, you can start Windows normally without being blocked by a "black screen."

New: The change of card indicates that it was the graphics card that was fried since it works without any black screen problems (or just slightly backlit actually) with a new card; however, the series around the NVIDIA GeForce 210 model (PNY) with 512 MB of RAM bought new are not compatible with certain motherboard BIOS that lack a parameter that must be activated (Memory Type Range Registers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) which causes a screen with a very slow display just after the PC boots (1 letter per second as if typed on a typewriter); the screen at *post BIOS* or just after the logo of the PC brand.

I wanted to provide an update on this issue as it has been a while. Unfortunately, this is only an update as we have not finalized our findings yet. We are still trying to obtain some of the motherboards reported in this thread. Presently, it appears it may be due to the motherboard BIOS, not the card itself. If after examining additional motherboards, the results are the same, this means that the fix will be to ask the motherboard maker to provide a BIOS update with a fix. The fix is very simple. A register in the motherboard BIOS must be enabled which appears some may not have enabled it. Your motherboard must have Memory Type Range Register (MTRR) enabled. To check, you may do the following however this will require some technical knowledge:

First, download the file below:

Unzip the file contents. You will need to run the utility in pure DOS (means you will need to create a DOS boot disk and boot off of the DOS boot disk). Add "device=himem.sys" in config.sys and load smartdrv.exe in autoexec.bat in the DOS boot disk or else the boot disk will take a long time to load. Type "msd.exe" to start the program. Then press TAB and left arrow key to "System Information" and press ENTER. Press PAGE DOWN key and you will see Item 2. "Memory Information", at the bottom of this item you can see "Physical memory cache status". That's the MTRR setting for your system. If you see A0000~D0000 is uncacheable, that means that the motherboard BIOS does not have MTRR enabled and is likely the cause of the slow POST issue."

In laptops, the problem is more significant but desktop PCs are ALSO affected!

I have the same problem. Before formatting the hard drive, the graphics card was working correctly, but after formatting, I installed the driver, the system restarted as needed, but I was surprised by the black screen with nothing on it. I waited for a long time, but nothing changed, so I booted in safe mode and deleted the driver that caused this problem. I downloaded another version of the driver and tried again, but the problem remains the same. What should I do? Are there any configurations to make? How?

I've been having the same black screen issue (but only when I launch an MMORPG). For my part, I recently reset my PC to factory settings, and that's when it recommended the Nvidia update. The current version on my PC is Version 269.19 GeForce 9600M GS. So I’m not really sure what steps to take regarding the issue, to fix it and play my game calmly again. To be honest, I’m a bit afraid to attempt any actions on my own and potentially make the situation worse.. So I would like to know if it would be possible to have a TeamViewer session with you to see the situation and if possible help me resolve the issue?
