Laptop Green Screen Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

A few minutes ago, I was working on my laptop and the screen turned completely green, almost fluorescent green, and nothing worked. There was nothing displayed anymore, I just saw green everywhere! It was impossible to do anything, except to turn off the computer like a barbarian!

This problem has happened to me before but with different colors. For example, once it was a completely pink screen!

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I really need my laptop, I'm a student, and I'm about to start writing my thesis, so if someone could give me some information, it would reassure me...

No, I'm joking, it's often a problem with a worn-out cable. I'm afraid your issue is mainly hardware-related and that the connection cable between your matrix and motherboard might be worn out.
If you're still under warranty, you know what you have to do. If not, sorry for you, go see an assembler, but well, a laptop is always disassemblable, but at your own risk.

Here's the little problem:  My TV screen turns green with stripes after a few minutes!! (I assure you it's true!!)  So why!?  And how can I make it stop once and for all!  Thanks. joedika.

Hello, my computer screen has a fluorescent color. When I saw that color, I started to check my video card and played around with the settings, but nothing worked!!!! It's a rather pleasant color, but I can see everything.

Hello, I'm reopening this topic because I'm having the same problem with my PC (but not a laptop this time) and I didn't quite understand the answer.

After a random amount of time, my PC screen turns completely green with vertical stripes. I'm then forced to restart using the button, and everything is okay for an indefinite period.

I have two memory sticks, one of which is inserted in slot A2 (black), the other in slot A1 (green).

What's the error?

[Edit] Well, I just switched to A1 - B1 to try, we'll see if it holds better like this, I'll keep you posted.

Well then, it's not coming from there after all, because the problem came back this morning. Except that this time, instead of green, the screen was light blue, still with vertical stripes.

What's surprising is that when restarting without touching anything, it goes back to normal as if nothing happened. It's not a case of overheating because it tends to happen early in my sessions.

The event always occurs in the same way: abruptly, at the precise moment I click with the mouse or press any key on the keyboard.

Any other ideas?

Well, I'm coming back to my question because I have new information. I've pinpointed my problem a bit better, and it always occurs about twenty minutes after startup in the morning.

When the screen turns green (or blue), I reset it, and then it works perfectly for the rest of the day.

There's another issue as well: when I start it up in the morning, the first time I press the button, the fans start running, but it doesn't boot (no beep from the motherboard). I then reset it, and this time it starts up for good (until the green screen).

Maybe a loose connection with your motherboard??? Try opening it up, cleaning the dust, and checking the connections thoroughly.  See you later -- Google is your friend, make use of it.
