Hello everyone,
I would like to know what read-only or hidden exactly means? What is it used for? And how can we use it?
Looking forward to your valuable responses, I wish you all the best.
Thank you,
Judikl

Read-only and hidden file are file attributes: For Read-only, as its name indicates, the file can only be read, and any attempt to modify it will not be possible as long as it has this assignment. For Hidden file, this function serves to make it "invisible" in the directory tree, but this function is inoperative if the user has set their Windows explorer to show hidden files.
To set a file as read-only or to make it hidden, right-click on the concerned file to open the context menu, and select Properties. In the window that opens, at the bottom of this window, check the box or boxes corresponding to the choice desired, then confirm to activate this choice.

Hello

It seems to me that read-only is an option that, if you enable it, will only give you access to your file in read mode
that is to say, you will not have the right to cut it if you are not an administrator
The hidden option allows you, if you enable it, to simply hide the file.

And when the properties do not appear with a right-click on a wav file,
and it cannot be played in Winamp or elsewhere, what do we do with that?

Hello,

the read-only attribute allows you to open a file and save it under a different name but not to modify it.

The hidden attribute means this file is not visible in a window and therefore not accessible without changing the appearance mode, but here we are already delving into other knowledge.

See you!
