mdnsresponder.exe is a process related to the "Bonjour for Windows" software. It is used by iTunes for music sharing.

It's also apparently related to Adobe.

mDNSResponder.exe is not just a process used by Apple

it is used by Apple to stabilize file sending and receiving, by Adobe for its updates, by eMule for P2P stability, by µTorrent for the same reason, O&O defrag, ..., ...

removing it is pointless because on its own it does nothing
just avoid installing everything and anything, and check which programs use the rapid DNS response process "mDNSResponder.exe"
