Save as annoying window

Hello,
Hello,
I have a serious problem with my laptop. I've formatted it about ten times and scanned it with Kaspersky, but I can't find any viruses. The problem is that when I open Office 2003 or 2007 on XP, the "Save As" window keeps popping up simultaneously and I can't type anything.
When I cancel it, another window opens in its place, I hear beeping, the computer gets a bit hot, and the cursor is always to the left, always on the first icon of a page (like the page up effect).
I thought it might be a driver issue; I downloaded all the drivers from toshiba.fr/pc, but that didn't help. I've checked Office compatibility, and everything is fine.
Please, if anyone knows how to fix this problem, help me—it's urgent.

Hello everyone.

I had the same "save as..." window problem that opened at any time in Office (Outlook, Word).

In my case, it was a keyboard issue. My F12 key was stuck...

The goal is to test a different app than Office, but that uses the same key combination to open Save As. It could be that your keyboard is malfunctioning.
Without saying something silly, CTRL + S is for "save," not "save as," except the first time... Unless under Office 2003 there's a combination... for "save as"...

For some time now, I've been having issues with Office.
(I still have Office XP because for just writing letters occasionally, I didn’t need to upgrade to a newer version.)
Actually, every time I open Word, Excel, or any other Office application, the "Save As" window appears randomly, really, you can't do anything!
I start typing my text and it appears, without me clicking anywhere!
Sometimes I even just open Word and it appears, and no matter how much I click on "cancel," "save," or even the small cross, nothing works, it reappears!
Sometimes I can only type a letter or click on the text, and it appears.
To stop these Microsoft madness episodes, I have to end the Winword process.
So it's quite annoying to write a text lol!

I did a complete system check: no viruses.
I did a Hijackthis: nothing bad to report.
I checked for spyware: nothing either.
I uninstalled Office (removing every trace), then reinstalled: the problem continues.
I checked the registry: there were dead keys, so it was put in order, but the problem is still there.
I looked to see if there was some issue with another program: there’s CD Burner XP Pro that does the same thing. I uninstalled it then reinstalled, and the problem remains the same.

I think the issue comes from somewhere in the system, but where??? O_ô

I saw in a Google search that someone had the same problem, but no solution was found on the site...

I’m using Office 2000, and since last week, the program stops responding in the open or save as window. I was told to go to Office 2003. I went there, and after doing all the updates, I returned to the same problem.

It may come from a Windows XP update, the latest ones dated April 11 included certain bugs of this kind.

You can remove the update KB908531.

Or see here:

A fix will also be offered by Microsoft on April 25.

Is this a solution to solve our problem or is it just worth a try because I saw the forums you suggested but they didn't help me much? At least we are two with the same problem.
I am waiting for your answers please. As soon as I open Word, Excel, or any other Office application, the "Save As" window appears really randomly, but really, we can't do anything!

If you trust your software completely (authentic, non-pirated software),
try a keylogger
it could be hardware-based: swap your keyboard with someone.

I don't think it's a keyboard issue because apparently there is no shortcut for "save as" in Office 2007, plus it doesn't malfunction in other software like MSN or WordPad...

Sorry, I don't know the solution; I can only suggest some leads. Recently, a forum user was stuck with an internet connection until he told us that he had finally updated his PC (SP2) ... and that it worked, so you see, help is good, but no one knows the history of your PC or the actions you have taken (or not taken).

So good luck and best wishes

Is your PC suitable for Office 2007, powerful enough (processor, etc. because it is designed for Vista and dual-core processors)?

Did you uninstall Office 2003, and did it work well?

Thank you for all the feedback, I think I've found the trick; I just had to change the keyboard shortcuts in Office.

Hello,

I have the same problem as you and I would like to know how you disabled the keyboard shortcuts because with the save window I can't do anything.

Thank you

Hello everyone,
how did you change shortcuts in Office?
I resolved this issue in Word by deleting the shortcut "save as" (F12) but the problem still exists in Excel, Outlook... is there a way to remove it for the entire Office suite?
By the way, I have Office 2007

Thank you for your replies!

P.S.: I believe I can wait for your responses.
