I read about the scams from Jean Pierre Rocle. I received the same email as someone on the forum for the Audi A3, except that for me it's for a 206, with the same mileage and the same options.

Some contributions to this discussion lack precision: if you do not post a minimum of information, your contributions are useless to others and therefore hinder the activity of these small "businesses":/
So, for better prevention, please provide a copy of the emails (taking care to remove your personal information) or at least, specify as many details as possible:
- Are you a seller or a buyer?
- Ad: name of the site and ad references
- Brand, Type, registration, and price of the vehicle (or other item) for sale:
- Sales conditions: payment method, delivery method.
- Email addresses, phone numbers, and names provided by the scammer during email exchanges.
- Documents provided by the scammer:
- Documents sent to the scammer:
- Did you transfer any money?
- Countries claimed by the scammer:
- Any other significant details?
Thank you for your cooperation :)

Dear Winner,
We are at the final stage of the prize distribution procedure. But before that, let me express my complete satisfaction and receive, in line with this honor you have given me by strictly adhering to my instructions, my deep gratitude.
Following your email, I inform you that your file has already been legalized for opening your winning account, and I have been to the bank affiliated with the Lottery for your winning check of €60,000. Your check has been issued; please find attached the photocopy along with my professional card as a bailiff.
I am therefore writing to inform you, dear winner, that the check for an amount of €60,000 corresponding to your win has been issued today, MONDAY, MARCH 08, 2010, and I am therefore sending you the copy of the check via email.
You should therefore go to collect your check here in Abidjan at the NATIONAL LOTTERY DIRECTORATE located in Abidjan, Plateau, Côte D'Ivoire.
We will proceed by express mail through different delivery services as follows:
Please reconfirm the company you have chosen which is as follows:
DHL EXPRESS: €225 (Transport + insurance) Delivery Time 24 Hours.
Chronopost: €175 (Transport + insurance) Delivery Time 48 Hours.
Please contact the transport company Chronopost by phone
Tel: + 00225 66 12 12 97
Contact Person: Malan François
Indeed, under the terms of the lottery, winners must personally collect their checks here in Abidjan; if you are unable to come, my office, as your representative and guarantor, will take care of everything necessary to recover your check and send it to you. However, in this case, the sending fees for the check will be your responsibility.
As previously mentioned, the lottery does not commit to pay the sending fees (transport carried out by express mail services) for the winnings, thus the sending fees for the check will be your responsibility in case you are unable to collect the check here.
I act as the witnessing bailiff supervisor of the lottery, and I hereby notify you that the fees are payable in advance and cannot be deducted from your winnings, which are not in our possession but rather in a blocked account.
Please note that we cannot, under any circumstances, deduct any amount from the €60,000 because the BANK CONTROL COMMISSION only allows winners to access their winnings; therefore, only they are allowed to deduct any amount from their winnings once in their possession.
This is under the law of article 205, section 42 of decree 589 of 1995. Anyone else who unlawfully deducts even a single cent from your winnings could lead to the issuance of an ORDER OF ARREST/CANCELLATION irreversibly with notification to BOA-CI and ECOBANK regarding your mandate.
Please be aware that we have a deadline to respect, as mentioned in the timelines for administrative and legal procedures.
Here is your winner status:
Rank occupied: 3rd
Amount: €60,000
NOTE: The staff of the NATIONAL LOTTERY cooperation once again congratulates all the winners of this year. Thank you for being part of this Lottery promotional program. We extend special thanks to BILL GATES and all his associates for their contribution to the fight against poverty.
I look forward to hearing from you very soon.
Best regards and once again congratulations!!!

Hello
I am currently in contact with Mr. Rocle to negotiate the sale of a Peugeot 206, 66,000 km, HDI, 1.6, 3 doors, full options, black color. Could you please send me an email so that I know if this is the same scam as yours? Thank you very much (P.S.: please be quick, as the transaction must take place tomorrow. Thank you.)-
Hello,
I contacted a lawyer to file a civil suit in court. She advised me to ask everyone on this forum who has dealt with this benign network or Jean Pierre Rocle or any other name to file a complaint as well, even if you haven't lost money.
So is it possible for you to file a complaint?
Thank you in advance.- I had Jean Pierre Dubus supposedly telling me I won the lottery in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. I almost got scammed; luckily, the internet exists to check your forum. Thank you.

Hello, I am once again reviewing your comments about this scam. I am Jean Pierre Rocle, a VW AUDI dealer in St Etienne. I have been suffering from these forums regarding these scams for several years. I would like to take the time today to clarify that I am a victim, like many others, of identity theft... I feel powerless in this situation! I have never been to Benin, and I have never sold a car in that country, nor have I scammed anyone. I had the opportunity to discuss this situation with my lawyer and with the gendarmerie in my town. No solution has been proposed for me to face this problem except to change my name!! I do not understand why the scammed individuals cannot find this criminal knowing they managed to find him to pay him... Thank you for keeping me informed about this matter. Jean Pierre ROCLE

Hello,
I was also dealing for a black Peugeot 206 like you. He said he was transferred to Benin to build railways...
He asked me for 2500 euros which I paid via Western Union, but I never received the car.
Have you filed a complaint against him?
Because I have filed a complaint, so I would like to know where you stand in this matter.
Thank you.-
Putin, man, I had the same thing, the same type, the same car and everything. I have the numbers if you want support to file a complaint, I'll testify...
- Hello
I hope you read this email.
Actually, I'm working on a file for the prosecutor, and I would like to know if you could write me a letter to help strengthen my case against Jean Pierre Rocle to go to court.
I'm looking for any possible testimonies against this Jean Pierre Rocle or whatever name he used with this type of email, and who is part of this network from Benin.
Thanks to everyone who will respond

Hello, I have currently contacted this person, but for a Clio Series 2 for €3000, 78000 km. However, this person didn't ask us for any money in advance and is delivering it while requesting a bank check. Do you think he could be scamming us?

On December 21, 2008, I saw a 206 for sale on Leboncoin, and I responded to it. When I got a reply from the person, I realized it was a scam because I had already been a victim of the same tactic for a horse trailer.

Good evening everyone, I almost fell for it. I saw the ad on autoscout for an Audi Q7 at €6,500, but finding the price extremely low, I asked him what was going on. Here is his reply email:
Hello;
I just received your response regarding the sale of my Audi Q7. Thank you.
I am Mr. Jean Pierre RICHARD of French nationality and I am a civil engineering engineer. I have just won a road project in francophone Africa, more precisely in Benin, and I have been here for two weeks.
My Audi Q7 is in perfect working condition and in compliance, as you can see from these photos. If I decided to sell it at this price, it is because I just got a new car here in Benin, as the customs fees are high here. I was planning to transport the Audi Q7 here to Benin for my errands, but after inquiring about the customs fees here and finding them expensive, I canceled its transport from France to Benin.
So I left the Audi Q7 with a transporter who is currently in France in Lille. It is the transporter who is currently managing the sale of the Audi Q7 and has all the vehicle documents.
The final price of the Audi Q7 is indeed €6,500.
So if you are serious and still interested in purchasing, I will put you in direct contact with the transporter, and you will set a meeting for him to deliver the car to you, or you can go see him depending on what you prefer.
You have the photos and the references of the Audi Q7.
Thank you for getting back to me.
By typing "Jean-Pierre RICHARD Benin" into Google, I came across this forum; it's not JP Rocle, but he is in railways... in Benin........ Given the price, I wouldn't have taken it anyway, an AUDI Q7 at that price smells like a scam from a mile away, thank you all the same.-
Hello,
I just received the same response, of course I have no intention of paying a dime, all I am waiting for is for someone to show up and for us to explain things in a very manly way!
Hello;
I just received your response regarding the sale of my Volkswagen Touran. Thank you for that.
I am Mr. Jean Pierre RICHARD, a French national, and I am a civil engineer. I have just won a road project in Francophone Africa, specifically in Benin, and I have been here for two weeks.
My VW Touran is in perfect working order and compliant, as you can see from these photos. The reason I decided to sell it at this price is that I have just acquired a new car here in Benin since its customs fees are quite high. I intended to transport the Touran here to Benin for my shopping, but after inquiring about the customs fees here and realizing it was expensive, I canceled its transport from France to Benin.
So I left the Volkswagen with a transporter who is currently in Lille, France. This transporter is currently handling the sale of the Touran and has all the vehicle documents with him.
The final price of the VW is indeed €3500.
So if you are serious and still interested in the purchase, I will put you in direct contact with the transporter and you can arrange a meeting for him to deliver the car to you or you can go see him, whichever you prefer.
You have the photos and the references of the car.
Thank you for getting back to me

it's almost the same email as mine... it’s really disgusting.

If you wish, you can send her your email exchanges with these scammers, along with their names and phone numbers.

Hello, I think we are dealing with the same person. I posted the ad on the market saying that due to a donation, we are selling our Audi Q7 for 1,500 euros and 500 euros in fees. I sent an email, and he replied that he and his wife were doctors without borders at the UN, and that he was currently in Africa, in Benin, and asked for my address to deliver the car.
