how to delete addresses from autofill Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,
how can I delete the addresses from the autocomplete,
I have a lot of addresses stored by default in my dropdown menu, when I enter the first letter of the recipient,
I would like to delete them and make sure that no unwanted addresses come back again
thank you

Hello

There is a very simple method without editing the cache file.
Simply select the unwanted address using the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard, then press the DELETE key.
Of course, this does not work with addresses in the address book; you must first delete them from that book.

but you know, if these are contact addresses you have on Incredimail, I'm not sure you can delete them! I'm not quite sure I understand your problem.... :(
Basically, in messaging services, as soon as you type the first letter of the contact, it suggests the different addresses of the recipients that start with that same letter...
For example, if I type the letter "L", the messaging service will then suggest addresses starting with "L"! (lolo@hotmail.fr or lola@yahoo.fr etc...!) and you can't delete that...

You're welcome! ;-) But we can't remove the "address display" option, at least not on Yahoo, Outlook, or Hotmail! It's automatic! Unless there's a "trick"! (If I find it, I'll let you know!)

to erase the traces of form writing (if I understood correctly) go to
TOOLS -> INTERNET OPTIONS -> CONTENT
(content is a tab)
click on the "AUTOCOMPLETE" button then "CLEAR FORMS"
and there you go, like magic, all the words disappear, very handy!!!

I'm sorry, but I'm not good with computers, but I found out how to delete these email addresses (hundreds)
You need to edit two files (with Notepad)
that are located in: \Local Settings\Application Data\IM\Identities\

(for that you need to have accepted to see hidden files)

TempContacts.imb
and
RecipData.dat

you delete everything in them like addresses (this does not erase our saved contacts elsewhere, even if their addresses are also in there). You save them empty.
And there you have it!!!!

1/Launch Internet Explorer, go to "Tools" -> "Options", then the "Internet" tab and click on "Delete history." Also, delete passwords and clear autocomplete.

2/If you have Firefox, press ctrl+shift+del, a deletion console will appear, check the necessary boxes, then click "Clear my traces."

3/If it's a Windows history, open any folder and press ctrl+h, a history bar will be displayed on the same page to the left, delete what you don't like.

4/One more thing, don't forget the recent documents history, their folder is usually like "hidden files."

Don't automatically save addresses anymore, this was quickly resolved
----tools, options, messages, uncheck autofill
But to delete the ones that are already there...

Hello.
To clear the entry errors of an email address, or simply to delete emails from the autocomplete list, the only method is

For Windows Mail (formerly Outlook Express):
Start menu, run, regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\Windows mail\Recently used addresses

For Windows Live Mail (formerly Windows Mail)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\Windows live mail\Recently used addresses

In the right window, you delete the letter(s) that bother you (I didn't quite understand, however, if an email starting with a "t" like toto@toto.fr will automatically go in the "t" section or somewhere else. Personally, it worked on the first try for me.
If in doubt, you can delete the letters one by one using the delete key, and check in your Windows Mail afterwards.

In the box where you write your address.
write a letter...you will see an address appear....move your cursor down which will make it turn blue without clicking...then press delete...and it will disappear...

OPEN HOTMAIL AND GO TO THE INBOX PAGE
ON THE RIGHT CLICK ON OPTIONS
IN HOTMAIL PERSONALIZATION GO TO ADVANCED PRIVACY SETTINGS
THEN IN AUTO-FILL SUGGESTIONS SELECT THE SECOND OPTION SELECT ONLY PEOPLE FROM MY CONTACT LIST
GIVE IT A TRY AND WHEN YOU SEND A MESSAGE BY TYPING ANY LETTER NO CONTACT OTHER THAN THOSE SAVED WILL APPEAR
