Gmail chat - blocked or not?

Hello,

I was chatting with a friend. For a few days now, they appear grey as if disconnected from the chat. Are they absent from the chat or have they intentionally blocked me? They are also not opening my emails. I think it's silly to end it like this. But if it's their will, I will respect it. If they block me, I know I will no longer have to hope for that grey circle to turn green.

Thank you for clarifying these color codes in Gmail for the chat - always, auto, never, and blocked. I want to know how we appear to the other person when one of the options is chosen.

Have a good evening

Hello, the Gmail profile has a period for automatic disconnection. In case of disconnection, in the Google toolbar, click on Settings > Account Connection ... and confirm your login and password again.
    Hoping for your help.

Sorry Clervones, but I think you didn't understand my question, or maybe I expressed myself poorly. I haven't lost my email connection because I'm chatting with other people, but I can't chat with this particular person.
Either because he's not connected to chat or because he's blocked me from chatting with him. And my question was rather how to tell the difference between the fact that he is disconnected from chat or that he is intentionally blocking me?!

      Did I make myself clearer?

Sorry, but French isn't my thing...

I have another problem, but it's somewhat similar: my chat contacts are no longer appearing. Gmail is asking me to invite my correspondents again, but even when I invite one of them, the problem persists.
      I am requesting assistance, please
      Thank you
