Le plus simple et le plus complet c'est de passer par un outil externe, tel que http://www.xiti.com ou https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/ (plus simple et très performant).
Sinon, si tu tiens à le faire sur le serveur, je te conseille AWstats (c'est pas du PHP (CGI) mais ça marche).
