ACER: factory reset Solved

Question

Hello,

I have an Acer laptop. I want to restore the system to the default factory settings. But I'm afraid I might ruin my computer. Indeed, not long ago, after a backup restoration, my computer couldn't turn on anymore, and I had to take it to the repair shop. I want to know if there's a risk. Is there a way to restore my computer with the least possible risk? What will this factory reset do? Will it be like it was when I bought it?

There is no risk except losing your personal data  At startup, you press alt + F10  your Acer recovery will launch and reinstall your computer as it was on the day you bought it.

the easiest way is still alt + f10 at startup windows doesn't boot and it saves you from a crash

I have a big problem with my Acer 3640... From the first day I bought it, it started performing an update... since that moment, I can't start Vista... I don't have a backup CD or the Vista CD... I tried safe mode but that didn't work! I then tried to restore to factory settings, but as soon as it restarts, I get a black screen that only goes away when I restart!!!!

In computing, you need to be patient...
Restart your factory restore (F10 at startup) and give Vista time to install. (between 30 minutes and 1 hour)
Keep us updated as soon as it works...

Hello everyone,  I restored my computer to factory settings and everything went well. In fact, my computer didn't crash halfway through. Hello, I have an Acer 1690 and I'm wondering if a factory reset is necessary for viruses? Also, does Windows reinstall automatically or do I need to do a manual installation? I only have the 3 Acer recovery CDs and I'm not sure if I should use them. Hello,  My computer is acting up a lot, especially the screen goes off when I turn it on or when I plug/unplug it, and the only way to get it back is to put the computer to sleep, except sometimes it won't... anyway, I want to restore it to factory settings.  However, I bought my PC with Vista, and I've upgraded to Windows 7. If I restore it to factory settings, I will go back to Vista; will I still be able to use my Windows 7 upgrade????  Thanks!! Hello, if your PC restarts by itself often, it's going into safety mode when it overheats. To avoid this, give it a good blast of compressed air inside the case, especially focusing on the radiator that’s full of dust.  That's the first thing to do before formatting mindlessly, especially if you don't know how to do it.   Have a good day!

I turned on my computer and due to several issues I did a factory reset using Acer eRecovery Management
the computer turned back on but is stuck on the black screen with a green bar searching (with "Microsoft Corporation" written below)
it's an Acer Aspire 5610Z or 5613ZWLMi (yes because it's different on the screen and the sticker)
I don't understand. Did I do something wrong? Or is it normal for it to take this long?
