MEMUP 3.5" multimedia hard drive driver Solved

Question

Hello,

I repaired a multimedia hard drive "MEMUP-media disk 3.5" USB2.0 320 GB", now after changing the broken hard drive it has 400 GB, and I have a problem:

When I launch the installation CD that came with the hard drive, I select "download drivers", then it asks what type and model of hard drive I am trying to install, so I select my model from the list, and supposedly the drivers can only be installed with Windows 98 even though when I first bought it I installed the driver without any problem while using Windows XP...§...§!!

I really don't understand, need help please;

You don't need drivers under Win XP because it's USB, which is natively supported by the XP system. So these drivers are completely unnecessary.

Ok, but then why doesn't it work when I connect the multimedia hard drive via USB to my PC??? (It should be noted that this hard drive, when it was original, short-circuited, so the hard drive is dead but the card in the hard drive enclosure is still working, that's why I only bought the internal hard drive (Western Digital, 7200 RPM, IDE connection, 400 GB))

So I received this new hard drive and I realize that it doesn't seem to work, when I connect it via scart, this message appears on my monitor (HDD fatal error ..4) just like with the old one that short-circuited except that this one is new and I just received it today...

I have a problem with a Memup Kwest 500 GB external hard drive. My computer makes the small USB detection noise, but the hard drive does not appear in "My Computer."
I inserted the provided CD, and it asks me for the model type for the driver and directs me to a 98 driver, but I have XP.

Hello everyone,

I bought a multimedia hard drive from the brand Memup. If you have one of this brand and your PC doesn’t detect it when you plug it in, it's a problem with the hard drive. You should take it back to where you bought it because the issue comes from a bad connection inside the hard drive. There are simply two small screws that need to be checked because the hard drive is not well connected, and the seller will fix it for you. Thanks, see you later.

I'm looking at all these responses. Indeed, some disks are not properly connected.
You just need to unscrew two screws and connect it to the case.
But unlucky for us, it's far from being the only problem.

it's quite a mess!!!
When you sell equipment, do it right, otherwise, I suggest sending it back and that's it.

I have the same problem, my buddy lent me his memup lx, my PC running XP doesn't recognize it... I thought it needed a driver but apparently not. Worse, when I connect it to my TV, the movies are in black and white. I think it's crap. I bought a Lacie Multimedia Hard Drive, it's a bit more expensive but it works, I have no problems and a 2-year warranty.

J'ai acheté un Memup Mediag Disk 320 Go. Mon problème est le suivant : mon ordi ne le détecte plus, par contre quand je le branche sur ma télé en HDMI, j'ai l'image mais pas le son. J'ai tout essayé. I had the same one and was really disappointed, so I returned it to exchange it since it was under warranty. I didn't stress about it and bought another one from the brand Neo. No problem. Try another brand.

Hi everyone,I see many of you have the same problem as I do. Indeed, my PC no longer recognizes my external hard drive from Memup. At first, I thought the drive was dead and I almost threw it away. It turns out a friend came over with his laptop, I tried my drive, his laptop recognized it and I was able to recover my files using another drive. My PC still doesn't recognize it and I don't know how to fix this problem. In the meantime, I know the drive works, but not everywhere. If you have any ideas... feel free to respond, thanks.

Hello,
I solved this problem by formatting my hard drive to FAT32 (memup only recognizes this format).
Since then, my external drive displays all my files on the TV or on my PC.
Be careful, the BIOS of PCs can only format up to 32GB maximum in FAT32, for my 160GB drive I had to use special software that can be found online to format the entire drive in FAT32.

However, neither my PC (XP) nor my Mac (10.5) recognize it. I tried using the device manager, but it remains hopelessly absent even when I plug it in before turning on the PC (same with the Mac).

Hello, I see that external drives don't always work well. I'm in the same configuration as many of you: XP PC, external HDD enclosure bought in China. I hear the USB device being recognized, but nothing shows up in Explorer. I even bought a SATA 500 GB hard drive acquisition card, and I'm experiencing the same configuration issue.
