Hello,

I have a .odg file created by Open Office and I would like to open it with PowerPoint. Is there anything that could help me convert from .odg to .pps?

Thanks in advance

But your last message helped me anyway; I forced my file to save as .odp (Impress), and it worked, so I was able to put it in PowerPoint.

Thank you very much.

Okay, but when I do this, I don't have the option to save in PowerPoint.

Here are my choices.

OpenDocument Drawing (.odg)
OpenDocument Drawing Template (.otg)
OpenOffice.org 1.0 Drawing (.sxd)
OpenOffice.org 1.0 Drawing Template (.std)
StarDraw 5.0 (.sda)
StarDraw 5.0 Template (.vor)
StarDraw 3.0 (.sda)
StarDraw 3.0 Template (.vor)

Thank you

It's normal that you can't save it in .ppt format, it's a file on Draw, you need to create your document on Impress.

Hello,

with OpenOffice, you need to save your file as a PowerPoint.

save as -> file type -> PowerPoint 98/2000/XP

On my PC, I have Office 2003 installed.

But I don't have the possible extension under Open Office.

That's my problem, but with .odt (Open Office Writer) I can save in .doc.

If you save it as .doc, it's in Word format and not in PowerPoint. So download the new version of OpenOffice to see

My version of Open Office I just downloaded is 2.3.

"If you save in .doc it's in Word format and not PowerPoint"
What I mean is when I want to convert a .odt file to .doc I can do it easily
But when it's .odg to .pps it doesn't work.

Yes.
I have another question, in Open Office the .odg is Open Draw, the Microsoft equivalent is PowerPoint or Publisher?

Thank you

I understood something: Draw is not equivalent to Paint but rather to Publisher in OpenOffice, while Impress is the equivalent of PowerPoint. I can definitely save it as a .ppt.

But how do I convert my .obg file into something usable with the Office suite?

Sure, but this is for OpenOffice Impress. My file is in OpenOffice Draw and in "Save as" I only have the following extensions:

OpenDocument drawing (.odg)
OpenDocument drawing template (.otg)
OpenOffice.org 1.0 drawing (.sxd)
OpenOffice.org 1.0 drawing template (.std)
StarDraw 5.0 (.sda)
StarDraw 5.0 template (.vor)
StarDraw 3.0 (.sda)
StarDraw 3.0 template (.vor)

You simply need to open it with OO Impress and then:
save as -> file type -> Microsoft Powerpoint 97/2000/xp (.ppt)
