Hello,
I had a big problem with my computer; all my files were "sucked up" by a website I was in the process of creating, and now, I can't recover them. I would at least like to recover my emails. They are all saved on my "webmail" at Free, but how can I put them back into my "mailbox"?

Thanks in advance
Configuration: Mac OS X Firefox 2.0.0.11

Good evening,

Your emails, mailboxes are located here:
Hard_drive / Users / Your_name / Library / Mail

Inside this Mail folder, you'll find the mailboxes of the different accounts and also the index files

If you move the entire Mail folder (for example, by placing it on the desktop) while the Mail application is closed, then launch Mail, the application will "not know" that the emails have already been retrieved, and thus will download all your emails again.

If you're satisfied with the result, you can discard the old Mail folder, and that will be the end of it.
However, if the old Mail folder, which you set aside, contains other emails that you want to keep, you will need to place the newly received emails in the correct places in that "old" Mail folder, put the Mail folder back in its place in your library, after deleting the newly created one or moving it elsewhere.
Then, from the mailbox menu, you will probably need to rebuild the inbox(es) so that the emails you manually placed are recognized and visible in Mail. Save a copy of the original Mail folder, in case of accidental manipulation...

Another solution would be to install another email client, such as Thunderbird, create the Free account(s), and retrieve the mail, then from Thunderbird, forward the emails to yourself. Be sure to configure Thunderbird so that it does not delete emails from the Free server after retrieval (at least until you have resolved your issue)

Good luck
Best regards
