Printer that turns on by itself at night! Solved

Question

Hello,
I have a small problem that may seem trivial, but it’s actually quite bothersome.
This is the third consecutive time that in the middle of the night my printer (Brother, DCP-330C) which I installed about a month ago, turns on by itself, something it had never done before. It’s pretty strange especially since my PC is off (USB unplugged the second night) and the printer's screen is also off. It’s like it’s resetting itself. I’ve never let it go on until the end because of the noise, I just cut the power. It doesn’t have infrared or wifi.
What do you think this is due to?
How can I fix it?

Good evening, could someone tell me how a printer can turn on by itself? Because tonight mine just did it for the third time and on top of that, it’s not even plugged into the power outlet...!! I'm at my wit's end right now and the fact that it turns on by itself more than once doesn't reassure me at all.... Plus, I got an incoming call on my landline from a number that is none other than my own calling number.... Does anyone know who could help me....?? Thank you.

No, it doesn't fax...
What's surprising is that I've had it for a month, and it never did that before... if it were every 24 hours, it would have done it since I've had it, right?
It's a bit annoying to have to completely unplug the printer's power...

My printer does the same thing; it turns on more and more often at night (between 2 and 6 AM) to do a head cleaning, whereas it didn't do this before.

It’s almost 3 years old, so it’s around the age that manufacturers would like you to replace it.

I just wonder if it's not an intentional draining of the cartridges to make you buy more quickly. A bit like printers that get blocked after a certain print quota, just so you'll buy a new one (sadly true).

Good evening, the previous messages are from several years ago, but since I just experienced the issue: noise coming from the printer which is turned off, screen is off. So I don't think it's the cleaning that happens when I turn on the printer and then "cleaning" appears on the screen. I've had this case several times many years ago, after my husband's death, and the sound of the printer was "acting up" as if it were getting angry or trying to tell me something...... And no, I'm not crazy, I'm just reporting facts. ;-)
