Change the .kar extension to .mid, import it into iTunes and convert it to MP3.

Hey..!

Good question..! If you want to do this on the same PC> If you don’t have a good sound card that can record and play back from your disk at the same time, forget it..!
You need a professional recording software, otherwise forget it...
Get a cable that you plug from 'In' to 'Out' of your sound card. Play the track and while it’s playing, record it live.

Another solution, but with variable results> if you don’t have a decent sound card> do the same thing but use a second computer or a MIDI device or a cassette player.

Hi...

Oh dear... well, let's do some cleaning.

To convert a kar file to an mp3 file, you just need to play it in a media player (or in Karawin or Van Basco) while recording with an app like the Windows sound recorder but a more powerful one... I recommend Winamp with a output plugin instead.

It's really simple.

However, you won't have the lyrics scrolling, you know...

Best regards

Fred

Serious problem, I can open it and see the lyrics but I have no sound with the kar file
What should I do?

Just a small note... It is simply possible to rename the .kar file to .mid. This is already a first step to read the files without a specific player!

Yes ... there are several options > the question is whether you want mediocre or professional sound quality. A Midi file does not contain sound > only instructions!

The Mp3 format is already a compressed file format! Each compression degrades the quality!

Since the question was about the transformation for use on a CD > the person could achieve much better results using another audio format such as > Wave.

Why overthink it? To read a .kar file without too much trouble, you just need to download Van Basco's player (you can even get it in French!). It's free online.

Go to the Mauricie site - it's the best site to get .kar files... and Van Basco's player. I did it myself and I'm very satisfied!

Good luck!

If you're unable to hear sound on your computer when playing a MIDI or KAR file, it's likely that your sound card isn't configured to output sound on the computer. To resolve this, simply click on audio in your software's settings and select audio mapper, which defines your audio output on your sound card, and your issue will likely be resolved! See you soon, Gabriel.

I take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas 2009!
Phew, time flies, it’s already been 5 years dealing with this issue, haha!
I know not everyone understood my intervention. I wanted to explain that it is possible to have very good sound quality even while converting and compressing a piece of music.

Why? It’s all well and good to convert a music file, but if the sound is poor, then the transformation loses a lot of its interest, right? How many people would be interested in listening to or reusing a mediocre quality piece of music somewhere in a montage?

Sorry to the one who wanted to do a big cleanup, haha!

I'm sorry to interrupt this very long discussion, but I've been looking for more than a week for a way to directly convert a .KAR file to an .AVI file so that, as you might guess, I can burn it and later play it on my television.

But here are the things I've found: conversions from MIDI to AVI (without sound), then conversion from WAV to MP3 (I don't see the point), and then assembling the two.

Please help me !!!!!!!!

PS: Happy New Year 2009

Happy New Year 2010!
The savior of the planet is probably here! His name is probably Moses Obama.
He will probably have a divine inspiration that will help him find all the solutions in record time and guide humanity through troubled waters; he will go down in history as a genius!

Our almost equally important subject!
I suggest you one that I have already tested, but there are others.
Before moving from Kar to Avi, I would first go through another audio format, for example > like Mp3 or Wave for better quality, Try > Jet Audio! Then use a video editing software. There are easily dozens out there. So I won't suggest one in particular, but try > Download.com, it's a good start. And don't forget to check out the website Comment ça marche, which has a large bank of tutorials and other solutions!

The savior has solved another riddle, ha ha!
No problem that > solution!
Once again, the Savior!

I may have already posted on this site in another thread, but make sure to try KarPbo

It's free
It's easy
It works
It's fast
It gives EXCELLENT results

No need for a "top" sound card,
no need for Audacity, etc.
no need for iTunes,
no need for VanBasco,
no need for XG Player, etc.

Download the KarPbo software
Download the larger Titanic sound bank, which is so much better than Chorium, which is already pretty good.
And that's it.

The point is to be able to convert your kar or mid files to CD-Audio / MP3 player format, etc.
And if you like KaraFun or KaraWin, the KOK file is generated automatically to have synchronized lyrics without any further manipulation.

Go to http://artagap.free.fr/karpbo/index.htm#dl

See you soon!

+1 for Karpbo, not only does he handle the operation alone, but he also greatly improves the poor quality of the equipment and provides you for the same price (free) a kok from the Kar to follow the melody!

A must-have that has already been pointed out to you by Art 60

Best regards
