How to edit a Karaoke kar file

Hello

I would like to edit a karaoke file to remove the guitar and piano tracks.

I have changed the extension from .kar to .mid so I can open it in Ableton Live, so I can remove whatever I want to edit as I please, but it's impossible to revert back to a .kar file later without losing the lyrics in the process.

I want karaoke playbacks in .kar WITH the lyrics.

Do you have a software to recommend for this, please?

I am on Mac and PC.

PS: The problem is the same in Logic Audio, Cubase... I can edit, but it's impossible to export in .kar format.

My advice, Karpbo, not only does it do the manipulation on its own, but it also greatly improves the poor quality of the MIDI and gives you, for the same price (free), a KOK from the KAR to follow the melody!

It's a bit off-topic from your initial question about MIDI or KAR editing, but it will be perfect to achieve your goal and will especially provide better overall quality:
The aim is to create a video file (playable on DVD players, iPod video, etc.) from the karaoke (apparently we can convert .kar into video files) so that we can play as a group while having the LYRICS displayed.

    Best regards

      Hello,

You have a well-crafted tutorial on the topic (Karpbo and soundfonts) on the site mentioned here:

      See you!

Thank you for this very quick response NeoTux, but I want to edit the music tracks (actually to delete them) and not the lyrics.
I'm reposting my request here, as I modified it and no longer have access to the original message.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

I want karaoke playbacks in .kar format (edited, therefore, without guitar and keyboard) but WITH the lyrics.

The goal is to create a video file (playable on DVD players, iPod videos, etc.) of the karaoke (conversion from .kar to video file can apparently be done) so that we can play live with the lyrics displayed.

Do you have any software to recommend for this, please?
