Logitech X-230 Speakers Installation

Question

Hello everyone,
I have a friend who has some very basic Logitech X-230 speakers, but unfortunately, there is no sound, even in the "Control Panel"; the computer does not detect this device. Does anyone have any idea why or how?
I've checked a bit on the internet to see if I could find an installation driver, but with no results, and I don't even know if these speakers come with an installation CD, sorry...
The computer is running Vista, and the sound card seems to be a Realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA (R) Audio Controller. The computer does have an output for an audio device as well.

Hello.
No driver is needed for a speaker kit to be connected to the audio output (green jack)......there is no hardware recognition by Windows, it should work right away.
Check your cabling and settings.

Well, there's no need for any installation CD or drivers, so I don't understand why you connected it to the power supply and to the PC?

Hello,   it's not a speaker issue but just a sound card driver problem, as the sound is carried by the sound card and not the speakers.

Sorry, I was offline for a while,
I checked some discussions on the site regarding these driver issues for Logitech speakers, but since my friend doesn’t have very deep knowledge of PCs and the web, he couldn't find an installation driver for his equipment lol
after all, the wiring of the speakers is relatively simple, but if the audio output of his tower isn't active, well, there's nothing I can do about that for sure.
But do you happen to know where to find good drivers for this type of speakers?

Have you ever tested other speakers?
Do they work?

If not, it means you haven't installed the driver for your sound card. To remedy this, go to www.touslesdrivers.com, click on "my drivers," then launch the detection, click on "sound card driver," and install it. Normally, your speakers will work.

Hello, it's the same for me with the computer, I don't have any sound but I've plugged them into an MP3 and they work. I don't know anything about the drivers, so if someone could help me, that would be nice. Thank you!

It's not possible, I also have this problem with my X-540, but for me, my sound card works, I replaced Trust 2.0 with Logitech X-540 and now the sound is not coming out of the speakers?
I have a latest generation PC (Intel i7, ASUS motherboard with built-in 7.1 sound card).

Here, I have exactly the same problem, I reconnected the trust 2.0, it wasn't working anymore, I posted a question about it, and Dyllan told me that it was probably the sound card that was burned out, so I bought a new one. I will insert it tonight. I'll give you an update as soon as it works (I hope).
