Hello,
I also did the transfer and I want to cancel the transaction, but the man to whom I was supposed to make this payment told me that the money was blocked. However, I would like to cancel the transaction and get my money back (which is normal). Is it too late? Or can we cancel a Western Union transfer online? Help me, I am in a panic!!! (It would be 2000 euros lost, I can't afford to lose that much money)

Hello,
A WU transfer is very quick. As soon as you communicate the codes, it's received by the recipient (especially if it's a scammer). As mentioned several times on the forums, WU is a money transfer service, not a bank.

In some countries, W.U agents, for a commission (about 10% of the amount..), bypass the ridiculous 'secret question' and do not scrutinize the fake documents presented too closely (same if they are genuine..). Therefore, very quick withdrawal is possible if the sender and recipient names + amount are known! This forum is filled with testimonies in this regard..

WARNING, there is a big scam circulating on the internet. Scammers from Benin are appropriating ads posted online, like puppy donations, car purchases...

I myself was cheated out of 98 euros for a puppy coming from Benin. The infamous company Express-livraison, which I do not thank, is a fake and fraudulent company. One person responds to two numbers 00 22 99 39 62 979 and 00 22 99 39 85 000.

We can't get our money back, but we can still file a complaint; and maybe one day they will get caught, I hope so.

Be careful, all information circulates on the net. I did manage to find the real owner of the dogs and of course, he is not giving them away.

I lost 98 euros + 20 euros in shipping fees for nothing, oh yes, just to line the pockets of the scammers.

Hum... 'Collected' means 'gathered', that's not good... The postal worker is not well-informed; in some 'exotic' countries (particularly Africa), you can withdraw money without answering the 'secret question'... W.U agents are often accomplices of fraudsters and are paid by them... Regarding 'identity verification', it's more than lax for the same reason, not to mention that fake documents outnumber the real ones...
I wish you to recover your money... Between us, I doubt the car exists....

To withdraw the money, you do not need to know the sending slip number.
The MTCN, or Money Transfer Control Number, is not a code, but simply
a sending number.
You need to know the sender's name, the beneficiary's name, and the amount of money.
And the conditions vary from country to country.
In short, if the beneficiary knows your name, the amount, and proves that they are the recipient (with an ID card), they can withdraw the money. But as mentioned above, it depends on the countries.
In any case, go quickly to the post office, which can tell you immediately if the money has been withdrawn for cancellation.

If the money really hasn't been withdrawn (which I doubt), hurry to the post office (or call providing the references, then go there in person) to block it... You won't be refunded the 'fee', only the amount sent..

When and where was the W.U transfer made???
To check the status of the payment to the recipient, you need to go to the W.U website and enter the first name, last name, and MTCN...
If it's been cashed, it's too late...
If it hasn't been cashed yet, the recipient hasn't withdrawn the money yet... In that case, you need to rush to a Post Office / W.U agency open on Sunday (in big cities). Bring identification documents AND the W.U receipt.

Otherwise, go to the opening of the offices (Post Office or W.U) hoping that the time difference hasn't favored the scammer...

The mandate was carried out on Saturday morning at opening time, that is to say 8:30 AM in our city (28). But the post office has assured me that without questions and answers, they cannot access the money (hopefully)!! So tomorrow morning at the post office opening, I will hurry to go there!!
