Hello,
In Word, when I press the Spacebar, a dot appears. What can I do to get a real space back?

Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

When you type text in a Microsoft Word document, a dot may unexpectedly appear when you press Space.

Dots instead of spaces may also appear in previously entered text.

This issue may occur if the display option to show spaces is enabled. The dot is a formatting mark that represents a space.

    Resolution
To hide the formatting marks for spaces, do the following:

    1. In the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Display tab.
    2. Under Formatting marks, click to uncheck the box for spaces.

Note If the box for spaces is unchecked and the box for all is checked, click to uncheck the box for all.
    3. Click OK.

The formatting marks will no longer appear.
