Hello, I would like to know how to temporarily hide my landline number from others, I have unlimited telephony with Orange (the Livebox). Thank you for your response Regarding this discussion

Hi,

From a mobile phone,
#31# before a number works but only from a mobile. (*31# to activate number withholding)

For a landline (traditional line through France Telecom),
3651 followed by the number works well

For unbundled phones, I suppose it depends on your provider!
Free (my provider) has a difference between hiding your number for one call or for all calls:
*31# to activate the "hide number" function
#31# to deactivate it
*#31# to find out the status?
to make a call, prefix it with (before the number)
3651 activates the service during a call (so hiding your number)
3652 deactivates the service (thus transmitting your number)

Here is the solution:

Secret Call by Call

To do this, simply dial 831 before your contact's number

Example of a call to the number 01 48 60...

* without Secret Call, dial 01 48 60...
* with Secret Call, dial 831 01 48 60.... The prefix 831 does not change the call pricing.

The use of the "Secret Call by Call" service is free.

Here is the latest information available from Numericable (but you need to be logged in as a customer to find it on their site):

One-time activation of the service:

To temporarily hide your number, dial: *31# followed by the number of your correspondent.
On the next outgoing call, your number will be displayed again to your correspondent.

Permanent activation of the service:

To permanently hide your number, dial: *32#
On the next outgoing calls, your number will be hidden from your correspondents.

One-time deactivation of the service:

To allow your number to be displayed temporarily (when the service is permanently activated), dial: #31# followed by the number of your correspondent.
On the next outgoing call, your number will be hidden again from your correspondent.

Deactivation of the service:

To permanently display your number again, dial: #32#
On the next outgoing calls, your number will be displayed to your correspondents.

Service status:

To know the status of the service, press the keys: *#32#

A message will inform you about how this service is set up.
